Wooden Console

Decided to make a console that blends the best of the secondary with the primary.
Anyone who knows me knows that, while I do adore the wooden asthetic of the secondary control room, I utterly despise the console. It's too small, the controls are just an array of coloured buttons, and one of the panels doesn't even contain any controls. It looks more like a study that was repurposed to be a console room, with the desk reconfigured into a console. The console also isn't actually connected to the floor - it's on wheels! Then there's the lack of a time rotor.
So, I made this. Still a work in progress, but the room itself is mostly finished. I just need to finish the console, add controls, and add books to the bookshelves. The Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 1).pngThe Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 2).png

It's a nice blend of the two, but I feel like the time rotor should maybe be stained glass to echo the stained glass roundels that the secondary console room had.

Made some updates. Not many, though. The console is still mostly bare, but does have some new details added to it. I also added some new details around the room. The Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 1).pngThe Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 2).png
As MttElby had suggested, I was tempted to make the glass around the time rotor stained glass, but that proved to be beyond my capabilities, so I elected to instead give it a coloured glass look as a small nod to the stained glass roundels.
I am hoping to at some point work out what the controls will be.

That seal of Rassilon is also crying out to be a stained glass window. :)

I think curved stained glass on the main console cylinder would be tough to do. You might have to make it a hexagonal prism for that to work well. It might work better on the stepped rotor inside it.

I've just had a quick play and this was the result (deliberately on the garish side):

The one on the left is with the Principled BSDF and the one on the right is with the Glass BSDF. They ended up looking pretty similar, but the Glass BSDF has fewer parameters, so is quicker to set up. There are three point lights inside: one near the base, one near the middle and one near the top. The reason it looks like there are multiple lights in each row is just from the refraction by the glass.

Ah, now that makes more sense.
I suppose I can try it. Though I probably won't be going with that colour scheme.
Also, which Seal? The one below the scanner screen, or the one above the door?

Have another update.
I tried out changing the tiered steps in the rotor to something more akin to stained glass, and I'm happy with the results.
We also have some controls added to the console. The Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 1).pngThe Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 2).png
I will admit, I was tempted to make one of the panel's controls consist of solely an array of coloured buttons, but decided that, since that was one of my reasons to not like the secondary's console, I'll settle for just a small portion of a panel having the button array.

While it seems obvious when I start to type it out, it fascinates me, how the wood paneling completely changes the feel of the room. The lighting is completely the same as a white or grey (or whatever) interior, but the walls and floor give it a sort of expensive 1990s conference room feel--or the bridge of the D Enterprise.

I meant the one over the door, I hadn't actually spotted the other one.

I was thinking it would give a feel like light was coming in from the rest of the TARDIS, hinting that there's more beyond the door. Only semi-serious though. It works as a metal plaque, because the secondary console room had a lot of metal too.

New updates.
The console has more controls added to it. Two of the panels are completed, and another two are close to completion. Just trying to work out what controls work to place there. Same with the two panels that aren't near completion.
And I still need to make the books for the bookshelves. The Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 1).pngThe Sorceress's Console Room (WIP 2).png

And it's done.
The console is complete, and the books have been added to the shelves.
I'll be posting closeups of the console panels next, but while I get them ready, here's the two shots of the room, front and back. The Sorceress's Console Room (1).pngThe Sorceress's Console Room (2).png
