I may have started building A McGann console a little prematurely ..... There might be a redesign I haven't seen yet.......

I kind of want to design all the panels and make something "inspired by" - however I'm already building other consoles at present.
I could barely afford to build one, and a lot of the components were added/changed over several years ao the cost was spread out.

The dream is weird. It flips between "real life" when I'm in the cast and in-universe where I am the character. Sometimes there are 3 or 4 console rooms merged together with 3/4 separate consoles.

It's better than the recurring WWIII dream lol.

Found a few extra bits to aid the construction of the 1996 Movie console

Going to use the Flower drawer pulls for the Clock face. The brass and chrome drawer pulls are to help me make the brass and chrome power connections on the equipment.

Other bits I'm working on.

And here's me thinking I was doing quite well with my progress! Far from it compared to you sir
I suddenly realized all the parts from the Vancouver production of the 1996 Movie can be found on this side of the pond. Consequently it should be easier to collect this junk together. Also I love a bit of Analogue steampunk control tech.

*Also been listening to a Ton of Big Finish Paul McGann❤️❤️

Just purchased a set of clock bezels - still unsure as to the exact size of the clock face.

And I found these on Etsy

12 of these plus shipping to my house cost me $8 USD.

Figuring out how to attach a clutch to the "Hand Break"

*Need a smaller spring

Now to attach it to the throttle lever. Still figuring it out.

Just clamp it into the wrench? Or, barring that, clamp a bracket into the wrench and attach the bracket to the...whatever the other thing is? Maybe not. I guess wrenches don't work quite like clamps so you probably couldn't tighten it down enough.

The "other thing" is a vintage Boat Throttle control.

I have been using the wrench as a vice so your idea should work.
Thank you, I appreciate your help and suggestions 🙂

I'm looking for a cable tension screw- think I have one around here somewhere.

Another thing zooming around my news feed.

I loved his console. If I could afford to build another I might have based it on his. Scream of the Shalka was a great story and he was a superb Doctor.

Side note - I am so sick of AI. Not just images but the dangerous fake news, scams etc. It's time for some regulation. Similarly we need legislation RE data brokers snd scrapers like Palantir. We should be able to know who has our data and have the power to make whoever has it delete it.

I agree back in college I studied Media Literacy...... Now I might have to start over and take it again.

I suspect this is more of a Photoshop as apposed to an AI image. (If so) Still created by humans.

I was lucky - I grew up as the Internet and other IT was growing but not recently enough to be totally reddit brained and thinking social media is my entire life. That said AI is accelerating far faster than our ability to keep up with it as a species and the environmental destruction it's causing is truly appalling - see Memphis USA.

Prototype. I'm going to get a box to seal in the workings. Still need that spring.

Update : have scratched off the initial layers of Krylon Metallics gold paint and giving the clamshell vents a respray. And I think it will do.
