It definitely looks like semi-transparent plastic with a molded grid of squares in it rather than wire glass... Would be a lot lighter and probably a bit less expensive too:

Agreed, but it's been a while since I've seen it. Probably not in the best quality at the time

Looks like its 3D rather than flat like plastic sheeting.
