(I suspect that this picture will prove to be as recumbent as my last attempt!)

Ironageman, check out this post: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=5617.msg66621#msg66621. It might help you out if all of your photos are posting (as you say) recumbent. The blue letter paragraph may be the most helpful.

At least I hope it will be helpful.

Dino.

Yes, that's what's happening! I'm using an old digital camera to, er, 'scan' these in from books, just because it's easy (for me! It'll give the rest of you cricked necks).

Ooh, that's a nice lamp. Flame on!  (and a nice box too.)

Reminds me slightly of these lighthouse fresnel lamps.

Not seen this style of box before, but I like it! The lamp and fancy decorative ends on the top sign are quite different from the more well-known design, but interesting!

Thank you, I have a couple of brass ships lamps with fresnel lenses (which just happen to be the same type used in trench boxes) I’m very fond of them.

I also really like these flambeau (a new term to me) shades. Pretty sure I have seen them used in lots of places.

I work for a lighting manufacturer so I’m a bit of a geek about lights, particularly old ones.
