Short musical film

There is a contest in Aus/NZ at the moment to win tickets to an upcoming Symphonic show of the music of Doctor Who.  To enter you have to create a video of no more than 2 minutes and post it on social media.  The video is to show you playing/singing/tapping etc the theme tune in some manner and post it using the code #DWSSThemeTune    I have no musical ability and have never made a video before but against my better judgement I made an entry and it features my Dalek, TARDIS and... me.  It is supposedly to be judged on originality and creativity so I have a small hope but there have been a coupe of other really striking entries so... at least I learned a lot while doing it.

Thought I may as well post it for posterity here, for your amusement...  :)

Nice job, indeed! (I guess one could say that you were really beside yourself while making that vid! ;D)

Now that's what I call "self" motivation!

102 hits and counting as of this post. (I'll spread the word to my fellow Whovians so they can take a look and see if we can't get that number boosted up a little.) Best of luck in the contest. (When does it end?)

Very good job, but you didn't account for the different light levels on the leaves which shows a visible line.
I think this is one case when you should have filmed this with a green screen background and chromakeyed in the background, and then you wouldn't have that light level difference between the leaves.

However excellent job.

Thanks guys!   Yes the filming outside was a bit of a risk  but I hoped that doing it in quick succession would minimise the visual difference between shots.  Shows what I know-  when I cam to edit I re-graded a couple of sections to better match but there is only so much you can do.  This was a last minute, grudging attempt and I thought about creating a portable greenscreen but the result didn't have to be award-winning and looking (and in many places, sounding) home-made hopefully won't count against me in a competition like this.   Sadly, there are several other entries that are really well done and have people who actually know how to play music and are filmed against a easily chroma-keyed background so they have cool console room backdrops but maybe I'll get points for trying something harder...

Dino, the contest ended at the weekend and views supposedly don't have much, if any, influence on the results - it's based on judges' decision but on the other hand it couldn't hurt either so I appreciate your spreading the word :)

There is lots I'd change if I could do it again but for a first ever video I'm pretty happy.   Now if it could have been longer, I'd have had way more TARDIS FX and tried to slip in a console room scene with a lot of clones flicking controls on a real console but sadly, not to be.  This time...   ;)
