Hi Dale,

I don't think that is Reading (I lived and worked around  there for almost a decade) and have never seen that anywhere......
But I did see this in a back garden in Reading about 8 years ago (which isn't there anymore)  ;D

Yeah now you look at it..It looks like the type in Newport that had the Scarf graffetti-ed on it! ;D
I'd like to know whereabouts in Reading that Police Hut was though!
I was told there was a box at Cemetry Junction (but it must of been the type of box/hut pictured below)

Slightly different design of box here being opened in 1934 with speaker phone.

By 1958 Reading moved to brick boxes two of which still exist.

London Road, Cemetery Junction in the grounds of Old Reading Cemetery. The cemetery is listed which has perhaps ensured its survival. Interestingly this box still has its speaker phone, it is set into the cemetery wall.

Thanks to Peter John/ Pete Wilson for prompting another look at Reading. Not the boxes most people want to find but, I’m happy when some still exist.

That London Road/Cemetery Junction Photo above was an actual Mini Police Station (Newtown)....
The Police Box was situated on the other side of the road by the Church..
Strange to have one so close to one another though?  ???

Was going off this map (1962), which shows the building as it is today, as a PCB. This brick box/ station must have replaced the PCB on your map as by the time this brick building appears the smaller PCB down the road is gone.

Same map, no smaller PCB. The Cemetery Box must be one of the replacement brick boxes announced in 1958 and your PCB must be the wooden kiosks it replaced. Though nothing is certain.

I close this search for Trench type boxes in the Reading Area...
Facebook is good for some things...... ;)
The Amount of people that responded to my question and many gave me locations of Boxes and posts (which I checked on Old Maps to confirm!)
It looks like Reading had the Wooden boxes from 1931 (one in Emmer Green even existed until about 1960)
But as Mikey has already stated there were replaced by  several different designs all brick including Mini Police Stations!
Here's a Map of all the original boxes/posts in the Reading Borough in 1947 (I make it 13 Boxes!)
