My 13th-14th Doctor's TARDIS Exterior build (1:13 Scale)

Some more progress done with my TARDIS model, I've glued the side and pack panels to the base. 'Still need to do the doors, after thinking about how I want to assemble them, I've decided to go with adding proper hinges. The ones that @Five Fingered Styre recommended should fit hopefully! 🙏

I've used some long wooden skewers, I think I bought them from Asda many years ago, chopped the sharp ends off and glued them onto the corners. This is to give it the rounded bits of the corner posts. They are a bit big but they'll do the job. This is slowly coming together!

I've also added pieces of card to the back of the windows, to make it look a bit nicer too

So this is the glue which I have, it's a heavy-duty grab adhesive

Thanks for sending the link to the hinges, I'll see if those'll fit by measuring it on the pieces
Also @Five Fingered Styre would this Gorilla Heavy Duty Grab Adhesive work for gluing the hinges or other multi-material pieces together? I also have some Gorilla Wood Glue which is what I mainly used for assembling the entirety of the kit.

I also do have some Loctite all-purpose super glue as well and that helped when gluing the window pieces together. Sorry for this exaggerated question, I just want to make sure I'm doing this right as it's my first time...

The superglue is quite a weak and brittle bond, but I find its good for resin and 3D printed parts. If your windows are plastic i would guess they would be OK for that.

I usually use a two part epoxy resin for gluing most non wood materials (I use wood glue for wooden parts); however, your Gorilla adhesive looks like it could stick practically anything! I think you would be OK with using that for what you want.

The model looks great so far. Love the colour!

Thanks for your input 🙂 and for the compliments. Apologies for the constant tagging, by the way 😅

'Been a while since I've documented on this build topic, 'just took a month break from working on the model. I've painted the doors and will send some progress pics tomorrow or Friday
