Leyton Town Hall Box

Here's the first look at J9 High Road Leyton, west side 10 yards north of Ruckholt Road, Leyton...But I prefer Leyton Town Hall Box.... ;D

What's interesting is the box is not on the pavement but actually on the Town Hall property literally slap bang against the building itself...

Here's a streetview from 2012 that I pulled long ago trying to ID a Box site from the description in a photo (which actually turned out to be of J19), but it shows the Box site for J9 rather well --



A little to the right of centre frame, per the maps. Looks to have been just inside the fenced forecourt area, which also appears to have been elevated a bit above ground level at the time based on the Box's position in the photos.

Note that the building it was in front of is actually the Leyton Library (though when built in 1882 it was the original Town Hall). The slightly later (1892), larger and more elaborate Town Hall building is next to it on both sides (surrounding it).
