Lewdrik TARDIS 2024 - 2025 Gatwa plans

Hi everyone!

My name is Lewdrik, I’m 25 years old and I’m a videographer with a lifelong passion for Doctor Who. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of having my own TARDIS… and now I’ve finally decided to make that dream come true — right in my backyard!

I’ve started building a Ncuti Gatwa-era TARDIS, inspired by the current design from the show. This project is both a personal passion and something I plan to feature in my creative video work. It’s a mix of technical challenge, artistic vision, and pure childhood joy.

Beyond just building it, I also have a bigger goal: I plan to write a complete step-by-step construction book — from A to Z — to help others build their own TARDIS too. I hope it can become a useful and inspiring guide for future builders!

I’m really excited to join this community, share my progress, learn from your amazing builds, and connect with fellow Whovians who know the magic of a police box that’s bigger on the inside 💙

Looking forward to posting updates and photos soon!

Allons-y! 🚀

Always nice to see a new full-sized build these days. A word of caution, if I may: You say you're building it in your backyard. Is it going to remain in the backyard or will it be one you can take down and move or put indoors? I ask because it looks like you're using MDF and MDF does not stand up particularly well to exposure to the elements. If this is going to be an outdoor TARDIS, good painting and waterproofing is going to be essential.

Thanks for your advice! I've already planned to be able to dismantle it when I need to. Besides, I'll really need to dismantle it if I want to be able to exhibit it at a convention.
