Hello All

New member
Hi All,

I'm Dave based in Scotland.

My plans are to try and build a full size Tom Baker Tardis which will be situated in the garden.
I'm not a chippy, but i'll give it go!

I Dont have any plans, measurements, nothing really.

Could somebody steer me in the right direction?

Happy New Year All.
Regards,
Dave.

Welcome aboard.

You would do well to start in the reference section.

There are plans for pretty much every variety of TARDIS that has appeared on screen.

Tom had 3 different TARDISes during his tenure. So you either want to go for the final iteration of the original Brachacki (which was modded several times after 1966 to the early 70s).

Then from 1976 to 1980 there was the Barry Newbery box (which was modded and came out one more time for its' final outing during a cameo in Logopolis)

Or then the 1981 Tom Yeardley-Jones box Mk 1.

We're a pretty friendly bunch, though so just wade in and ask any questions you need...

Good luck!

Don't worry.  You don't have to get it 100% right.  We're almost the only people who notice the differences.  I built mine based on the original 1963 prop but I cut various corners to save money and simplify the build.  Years later I wasn't happy with it and figured out a way to retrofit it to be much more accurate.  I was very proud of my work and showed BEFORE/AFTER pictures to various friends who were "Dr. Who" fans and every one said "I don't see the difference."  So it might be important to you to get it right and we'll see the differences if you post pictures (but we're generally pretty supportive) but the vast majority of the public, if it is blue, has panels and windows and a light on top, they'll say "THAT'S A 100% ACCURATE TARDIS JUST LIKE ON TV!"
