Doctor Who comes to Northampton

Hi all

Earlier this year I reached out to Northampton Museum and while a full few weeks of an exhibition isn't possible this year (but will be maybe in a few years...), they offered for me and a gang of prop builders and cosplayers to put on a display for an afternoon....

Nearing 60 years on our television screens this month, "Doctor Who" has been a stalwart of Saturday evenings since 1963 and has continued to entertain and scare audiences behind the sofa to today. David Tennant returns as the Time Lord in 3 specials due to premiere THIS month.

To commemorate the longevity of the show in its 60th year, why not join the Doctor and his adversaries for an afternoon of displays, chats and an alien invasion at Northampton Museum.  Fly the TARDIS, see inside a Dalek, admire the Doctor's costumes and cower at the scariest monsters in the universe.

FREE ENTRY 12-4pm Saturday 18 November, the TARDIS materialises at the Northampton Museum & Art Gallery on Guildhall Road.

If you're local, it'll be fantastic to see you there! If you're not, please tell your friends and family! We'd love for this to be significant enough that the museum call us back again in the future.

See you there!!

Thank you to anyone here that might have come by on Saturday, the day was an absolute blast. It wasn't the biggest display but it certainly went down well from what I've heard!

We had over 400 people walk through the door in the first hour, sounded like a first according to the museum staff! Everyone was so polite and accepting of our display, a proper treat for someone that has spent most of his life in the outskirts of somewhere you'd rarely get anything Doctor Who related come by!

It was nice to have chats with enthusiastic fans, young and old(er), and even some wannabe TARDIS builders! One I've told to come here as she will get the best TARDIS resource!!

Thank you to forum members John (and his son Gareth) for bringing his CyberLeader costume, cyberscope and mask display, with Gareth as Sycorax. Thank you to James _and his Monsters_ for morale and hsi menagerie of monsters and masks. Also regards to Nigel, who had never done an event before!, for coming along with his fantastic dalek.

Yours truly did his usual TARDIS and TARDIS console, but with added K9 fair and some costumes that haven't been on display before.

The museum and staff were a treat and a pleasure, I hope we get invited back!
