David's K9 Build

To spam the forum a touch more! Here's a few little updates on K9.

I rushed him to Invasion Colchester, so his face plate was glued in, rather than being magnetised like I planned. So with some time to spare, I fixed the sanding issue I painted over (classic BBC I'm sure) and finally got the magnets sorted.

However doing this has broken up my crude attempt to attach the head to the neck, so I need to come up with a new ay of attaching the head. Thoughts welcome!

A cheap woolen scarf off Vinted, cut to size, plastic strip in the middle and the rest hot glued and velcroed to make:

A finished collar

Pipe ends tiewrapped to the head (and body pictured elsewhere) for the neck sheaf to grab onto.
Giving the head plate a respray before adding ears.

All lovely and resprayed with supposedly the correct paint colour from Halfords... before their recent colour system change... lord knows what it is now!

Back panel repainted with some hammerite, for no particular reason than I didn't want it to go to waste
And some non-accurate buttons because I'm a cheap skate and didn't want to buy the more expensive correct ones.

Recent changes at Watford Comic Con last month, including box and err... guests

My K9 is far from perfect, but there's always something to do, so here's a brain dump of things I want to change/fix:

-new ears (they've broken since, they were 3d prints from Mooncrest)
-motorised ears (work in progress)
-eye antenna w/ motor
-correct buttons on Back panel
-maybe new eye slats, not as translucent as the TV counterpart
-motorised tail
-resin K.9 panel sign (theyre 3d printed at the moment)
-replacement bumpers (either the square Sarah Jane Adventure style, or black foam tubes)
-fill in the nose (I much prefer the nose to be the latter version and not the original)
-motorised nose gu.n barrel
-reattach head (its not quite sitting right still)

and finally...

-some sort of carry trolley??? He's a heavy brute with his car wiper motors and could do without picking him up all the time

and future future wishful thinking ambition...

-very jealous of Who Collector's/Little Shop's fibreglass version! Would LOVE to do a version in fibreglass and say goodbye to the wood weight.
