CYBERSCOPE (Earthshock)

Almost there now!! Maintenance hatch made, probes all sprayed up and decorated, and a few more controls made and fitted. Just the holo-pad to make, cable tubes for the probes and then on to the lighting. 20230218_162837.jpg20230218_162845.jpg20230218_162906.jpg20230218_162930.jpg20230218_162933.jpg20230218_162944.jpg20230218_163044.jpg20230220_204840.jpg20230220_204849.jpg20230220_204856.jpg20230220_204913.jpg20230220_204921.jpg20230220_205321.jpg20230220_205335.jpg20230220_205412.jpg

I can't get over how realistic this looks. Perhaps even better than the original that we're only seeing through old low quality video!

Amazing work!

This came out fantastic. It's really beautiful!! So jealous. I need to get back to my upgrades to my TARDIS Console.

I've been meaning to ask. Did you get a real oscilloscope for that one panel or did you mock it up with 3D printed/ bought/ found parts?

(apologies if I missed a reference to this)

No, it's just a mock-up for now. I might upgrade it at some point.

Certainly one of the most distinctive prop/set pieces from 80s era Doctor Who!

I just find it endearing the device is, in effect simply a video monitor, a TV.  With those rods having pointed tips, aimed at the center, and mounted upon arms that look as they can be adjusted, the mechanism seems more suited for firing beams of energy to create "exotic particles", like some sort of desk sized Hadron Collider!

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! Such impressive work. So very very jealous of this. I can't say enough nice things about this. Excellent!!!!

All you need now is a sphere projector to show scenes form the episode. :)

If your going to DIY you need a special Fish-eye lens to project in the viewing sphere. IDEA: The sphere can be made of a thin paper or cardboard that light can shine threw.

Thanks for the tips on holo-globes etc above. Will look into those...
For now I designed up a kind of central "beam collector", which I know isn't on the original, but I needed something to act as a grip to remove the table top.
I also had my son, whose a graphic artist and video editor, design me up a banner for when we take it to events. Below some more pics with the 15th Cyber Legion's (the group I now run) banners as backdrop.

Superb!! The display is fantastic. If I could make a small suggestion, could you print the 'silos' on the reverse of the display then you would have a cyber control area for the silver beasties to pose in?
If theres one prop I could covet its this!!!
