Do any "somewhat" accurate orthographic drawings exist for "Bitey" the Cybermat from "Closing Time"?

I thought I'd try my hand at a digital model I would share (for free) with the 3D community.

There was actually a full size cybermat based on the Wheel in Space version supposedly as a kit available in the 80s I beleive which I think was advertised as being able to be fitted with a remote control, but I'm not sure it ever went into production as Ive never seen one. I just remember it being advertised once in DWM.

I remember that as well. I've still got the DWM with the ad in somewhere. I seem to recall seeing some pictures of a propertied completed version of the shell years back so if that was true there is definitely some out there...

Anyone know if there any diagrams or blueprints to the "Revenge of the Cybermen Cybermat? I didn't see many screenshots o this thread, so I skimmed threw the episode. Let me know if any other scenes look good for capturing.  8)
In the first couple shots on this list of pics, I wanted to count how many plates it had to make up its body.

It looks like there are ten plates to the body, not including the head and the pointed tail piece. I always liked this Cybermat but thought its head was, well, a bit rubbish! It would be interesting to see it with a better head- one with eyes like the originals had.

I made a quick Photoshop of this particular Cybermat with three types of eyes. The firs is the ping-pong like white eyes, the second has a sort of cylon like eye that scans back & forth for a target, & the third is an empty teardrop keyhole shape eye. Honestly, the the shape it has now resembles a featureless cobra. And the featureless & unknown is always a big time scare in the horror movies. Who doesn't fear the unknown.

Some size references with the Cybermate giving Sara a kiss. I find in this clip you can see a sleeve inside, that the individual plates are attached to.

I found this clip had some good shots of how many plates it had threw the Cybermats Cyber-agony. It also showed the ribbed underside. Any guess on what the ribs are? Foam ribs, plastic ribbed pipe?

Mmmm Interesting! Definitely better with eyes. I still think a fatter head too. I had a re-count there on the picture you had put up of the number of segments; it looks like twelve to me! I'd never noticed the markings on its back before (first anterior segment). To my mind at least, the long neck is more like a long nose. A sort of insectoid proboscis. I like he idea of it being like a cobra. I rattled off a sketch, but I think Ive done the head to short...(hope you dont mind the sketch! Just an exchange of ideas!)IMG_20240314_225618.jpg

Googly eyes. It’s the only answer.

I love your concept art Andrew, I'm putting that on my list of prop builds, right next to the Cybermat complete collection.  :o When I started photoshoping, It looked like an Alien head without the pong eyes.
