Brachacki And S4-5 Brachacki altered 1/13

It’s a testament to Tony Farrells excellent plans that we can whack some scaled down measurements into Tinkercad and produce such beauty’s!
They both have opening backdoors but I have yet to fit the Troughton ones. The Troughton box is a season 4-5 version with a swappable phone door. Will be doing the further mods for season 6/7 and 8 onwards etc.

These are kits that started out as Smappys Brachacki original but I added a few things like see through signs and totally changed the way they are printed and assembled.
Everything is friction fit, no glue required...

Great work!

I can just imagine Hartnell saying:  "Good grief, man! What on earth have you done to the roof???"   ;D

Also wanted to show off these scale wise, again another testament to Tony’s amazing plans...
Not to slag of the CO toy versions as they lovely in their own way and grateful we get those sets, but here is a size comparison... 2DA65032-378F-4858-9598-9DA57505BAA4.jpeg62B38187-076F-4F2C-8330-A2737F905172.jpegF077F521-9BF6-41EE-A6EB-D8CD02D22A8D.jpeg

The moment I’ve been waiting for haha

I'm not saying this is what they did but it almost looks as though what CO did was to correct production flaws in the original prop. It's a conversation I know has come up hereabouts in the past RE screen accuracy - do you replicate unintentional flaws in the original.

I know the truth is a profit motive to be able to produce replicas of multiple different props with a minimum of unique sculpting etc. being required for each one but it's an interesting effect.

The models are looking great. Depending on the material I find 3D prints seem to absorb the first few coats of paint and weathering in peculiar ways - is their a trick to it beyond more coats of paint? I'm talking about quality prints from Shapeways.

Thank you, i've not had such issues with paint absorption on any of my 3d models. I primer first with a good quality one but i've even painted directly onto the PLA when i've tested colours and the paint sticks to the surface no problem. I print all my TARDIS models in 50% PLA for extra strength and adds a nice weight to them., perhaps your prints have been at a lower infill and hence the absoprtion? I'll send a pic of some Newbery scrap parts i've been testing colurs on...

in regards to the CO models i believe CO based those on the TYJ however it does have Newbery or Brachacki style sign boxes.

I couldn’t seem to add a photo to a reply to cardinals question about paint absorption on 3D prints. These are some scrap newbery parts I test painted directly onto the Pla, it’s probably two coats as I tested two colours and no such absorption issues. Again all my models are 50% infill..A662BC07-C134-4D69-9E84-2096BD36DA50.jpegD28C57E0-BFDA-41F7-A691-5FAC89B9BB18.jpeg

Maybe, do you use primer first? I only use hand paints but know of friends who paint 3D printed models with air and they haven't had any problems.

As I have a spare roof and base lying about I decided to start a project for myself... season 6-7 Variant with the damaged front left quadrant. This one will have a swappable door sign for invasion and Krotons look or the seeds of death onwards look...7B0A201E-FAA2-41C7-94B4-1E657E2F91CD.jpeg5605CBCD-5309-4844-8B98-5FF623B35724.jpeg946F0964-C916-44C7-8570-4EC01F984908.jpeg
