Blackwall Tunnel South Box - R2

Transferred to the Fire Brigade in 1970 like the one on the northern end of Blackwall Tunnel (H15).

The Blackwall Tunnel Entrance is the structure on the right, and 150 yards South puts it right against this wall as per the photo.

Great identification. Writing on back of original photo says it was taken at the Blackwall Tunnel Tram Terminus in September 1951. Location here is before it was resited a bit to the south.
 
It amuses me, how many of these photos seem to be of mass transit.  It's like the bus is the star and the police box is a supporting character. And we're the other way around:  "Too bad that trolley is in the way or we could see if there's an SJA badge."  Ooh.  If The Doctor ever gets the Chameleon Circuit working again, the TARDIS needs to turn into a double-decker bus. 
 
Now that you mention the subject, I hadn't even noticed that this Box didn't have an SJA badge back in the day either.

And yes, if it hadn't been for Tram, Bus and Train enthusiasts, I'm afraid we'd be up a creek without a paddle looking for Met Boxes.

Oh, and e TARDIS as a double-decker bus has been done with Iris Wildthyme, as I recall. Get both of them playing Routemaster and throw in The Knight Bus and things could get really interesting ;D.
