2005 NST TARDIS Lamp

So. Since i couldn't find any more proper lantern, i went for the scratch build. Basicly, it's made of 2 flower pot, 2 1l lemon sirop canister, hot glue, the top of a 10euros garden bird feeder, and a flat chrismas ball. It's unfinished yet, but here is the result so far.  I'm shooting for screen accuracy, so i made the "nipple" but i wont keep it. Also about that, don't be affraid to tell me what's wrong on it.

Does anyone know the actual dimensions of the Tennant lamp? Can’t find them anywhere and the picture above is the best I’ve seen but could do with some plans or measurements, thanks in advance.

Hey there. I've recreated the lampe with a bird feeder that shared a part with the lantern. Here is some mesurements in cm and a link to that bird feeder i used.
The top dish part is 18.5 cm with a 1cm rige inward.
The top cap is 11cm.

Between the box where you're replying and the last post in the thread, there's a "Reply" button (or if you're on the mobile version "User action" which has a dropdown menu saying "Reply"). This will open up a reply box which will have a way to attach images.

Not sure if anyone’s still on the hunt, but if anyone in the US is looking for a good NST lamp cap, I may have found a good option. Found at one of my local hardware stores, the top of this might be good. Gonna purchase it today and see if it’s any good.

I forgot to mention, not getting the lamp right on the first time is a *good* thing.  Because it is easily replaced.  If you made your box too narrow or something, it's very hard to fix that, but if you're not happy with the lamp it's relatively easy to pull the old one off and put a new one on.  And IMO, it's nice to have something about your TARDIS that you're not happy about.  If you get it 100% right the first time, all you can do is look out the window at it in the morning and be happy.  You're done.  All you can do is try to keep the elements from getting it and maybe paint it a different shade of blue from time to time.  If you look out the window in the morning and go "you know, that lamp just isn't right," then you've got something to look forward to and a project to fix.

Quite right, but it is rewarding it find the right pieces!

I got the bird feeder, and it’s great! The top bit unscrews and lets the piece in question right off! Just need to get a new top and the bird feeder is still good to use, too!

Do they still make metal coffee cans?  Get one of them and cut it in half and stick a Vermont Lantern "fresnel" lamp chimney in between (with your bird feeder top) and you're done. ;)

Just to remind people, the bird feeder i linked as a pièce of tooling used on the top cap part of guardman's lantern wish was used on the new séries tardie. And lucky for us, it's près fitted so it's easy to take appart. The hardest part you'll have to do is cutting away the cheminey and find some flat dôme to put in top. Personnal i've found a snow ball that did the trick.
