1996 TV movie wooden TARDIS build

I went out 5mn yestuday to shoot à bit some fait dusk pictures. I can't do night shoot outside (normaly but i might anyway) because of the 18h nationale carefue.
It's kinda unusale seing this box out in the day light, it looks od but hey...i can't do better yet. I still need to turn some acrylique tube and make my self a proper lantern if i want to call it done.

Any way, enjoy^^IMG_20210126_200816_440.jpgIMG_20210126_200817_930.jpgIMG_20210126_200820_981.jpgIMG_20210126_200822_683.jpg

Those look amazing, the first picture is almost identical to one of the promotional images! The lighting, the blue, the angle... it really does look like the full-sized box! Based on this, I look forward to seeing how you upgrade the lamp.  :)

Ho yeah X) there are still improuvment to be made but maybe i should try to recreat some shots of the movie. Thx for the compliments.

I know at my mom's place, i have a speedies hummer hz and mini cooper. I think i'll get them home to shot some more pictures with the boxes

I couldn't wait for carefue to end, i wanted so much to snap some photos of the box under street lamps and in the dark. Here are some ruff results. I'll try and take more time next... Time

Okay, you honestly "got me" with this latest collection of photos.  "Glancing" at the "recent posts" thread and not yet reading the text, I saw these images and just assumed they were of a life sized prop!  Seriously!  Only when I opened this thread properly and actually read the posts did I realize my assumptions were mistaken.

The 4th, 5th and 6th shots truly astound me!  That last with the low camera position aimed high and the door opened flooding the wet, reflective ground...the musical "cue" of "Flavia's Lament" immediately "plays" within my head!

Sincerely,

Bill

Thx à lot guys^^ i'm quite touched by such Nice comments, btw i've checked around, and good job on your full size tardive. I really want to make one to film stuff (and some funny projet) but my roommate barelly alow me to do all those model without having me promise to get ride of them at some point X) do full size won't happen until à few years i think. But i still want one. I always wanted à New series 1 or Nsdw 4 tardis. But now... I'm not so sure wich one i shall make. A part of me kinda want to make a design of my own.
What do you think ?

You deserve the accolades-
Your models are superb.
The Hudolin is one of the best iv'e seen!

You are right that there are some amazing full sized builds on site.
The beauty of TB is that no one judges. If you want to go accurate to one model, that's great. If you want to mix it up with a hybrid, that's cool too.
Some people go completely "off piste" creating steampunk TARDISes, art deco TARDISes & goodness knows what else!

I personally used the Hudolin plans with a few modifications, but then got bored with the all blue look & repainted her metbox/Capaldi colours- dark glossy blue with white windows.
It's your build, so you can do what you want!

Best regards,

Russell

The first group shooting for the tv movie box. Out in the parking lot... But hey SNOW !

Sorry for the redondance of the shooting place. Coronavirus mesures forces us to keep home as much as we can. So i can't really plan photo shoots with à drone in the hills or quaries

I final took some time to try and simulate à wood stain effect with métal flakes and some acrylics and vernis. I'm happy with that. Also i've painted the walls inside Black. I'll still have some carding to do if i want it acurate, that and that lampe i haven't touched yet either
IMG_20210219_074430_288.jpgIMG_20210219_074431_893.jpgIMG_20210219_074434_459.jpgIMG_20210219_074437_135.jpgIMG_20210219_074438_346.jpg

Hey there, update on the tardis, i finished the floor and weathered it. Now it looks à bit more used, maybe à bit to much... Idk. Also i finaly made à proper mount for the lights(wich was something i've kinda forgot to plan and it shows i think, i'll do better on the next tardie... Wink wink) also i still need to make a apropriate sized fresnel le se, for now i've remade my place holder lamp, but better X)

Little pointless update i guess X) i still need some back card and that lamp but i guess i can call it done ?
I can't really go shooting with it for the time being, wich is really annoying. But hope fully soon

These photos give me a wild sense of deja vu.  Because around a decade ago we had a builder who did multiple TARDISes that were technically excellent and the photos he took were excellent too.  I thought it was Zbigniev*, but it looks like he only did the altered Barachaki.  Yes, his work is very similar, but I'm sure there was someone who had multiple TARDISes, lined up in neat forced perspective miniature shots like this.

*I'd link to some of his stuff, but I'm told some threads disappear when they reach a certain age and only my Mod powers let me get to them.  Although that was the old board, so maybe now anyone can find them.  If so, just do a search for Zbigniev to see his build.

Thx for the tip. The guy does awsome stuff,i'm happy you're comparing my model to his X)
I'll have to do some photo editing like him to at some point. I'm procrastinating on that, but it could be à problème solver on the lock down situation.

Little containment breach to shoot in the quarie with 13th and 8th tardie.
First, update to the model, i've find some Black back card. That will do the job for now.
IMG_20210226_184834_363.jpgIMG_20210226_184836_649.jpg

And i burn my self trying to those crapy shot so they have to get here

IMG_20210226_184838_219.jpgIMG_20210226_184839_582.jpgIMG_20210226_184840_757.jpg

I have no idea why i did that either...
And finally, here are à couple of shots from the dirt pile some few dozen km of my house. I haven't tried to color grade them to look acurate to the movie, because i don't think the day shots of the tardis looks that good to be honnest. So i did my thing mostly, it's quite more on the moderne style of shooting and natural lighting and grading.

I hope you'll enjoy^^

Hey guys, i'm playing around with lighting, wich do you think looks more like the tv movie ?
I don't know for sure what was inside the full size screen used prop(i imagine halogène bulbs) but trying to find the correct hue fore my leds is à bit of a struggle. So far i'm running on cold white for that neon look (wich usualy appears either blue (like the delorean flux band in BTTF) greenish or pink-orangeish)

Original (currently in the box)
IMG_20210328_012341_682.jpgIMG_20210328_012332_969.jpg

Warm white (currently on the A/B and J prop i've made)
IMG_20210328_012339_891.jpgIMG_20210328_012336_191.jpg

À mix i've tried for a whiter apparence on film and photos
IMG_20210328_012344_137.jpgIMG_20210328_012334_766.jpg

I quite like the bluish lighting, its how I imagine the lighting in that box to be and it reminds me of some of the publicity photos. Although the slightly warmer colour also looks nice!

i do think that's the clossest i'll get to the halogene bulbs and neon i suspect the box had. i wish it would be a bit whiter, but i needed your guys advices. my goal is screen accuratie rather then personnal liking.
