Okay I'm new to posting online and have made several attempts at uploading photos. I think I may be doing it right now ha ha. Anyway I'm building a new coop for my chickens and making it to look like a tardis. Thankfully I found this great forum to help with the details. Thanks to all of you guys for sharing your knowledge, it has helped more than I can say. Alright I'm several weeks into this build and I took photos along the way. This is the base in the beginning.Base 5mega.jpg

Then I built the posts out of treated lumber 2017-04-22 12.48.52.jpg

After that I made the blocks to mount the posts on. I screwed the blocks to the underside of the base. 2017-04-22 12.51.56.jpg

Looks like a smashing start! What style of Tardis are you going for? Classic or New Who? Or something custom?

stewwho28

Thanks scarfwearer,I am roughly going by Bill rudloffs plans that came from this forum. I suppose it will be custom.

Then I routed the design in the tops of the posts 2017-04-22 14.20.24.jpg

Then I started on the sign boxes. I also ordered the top signs at a local sign shop 2017-04-22 15.22.22.jpg2017-04-22 15.23.10.jpg2017-04-22 15.25.38.jpg

Then I made the trim for the outer edges of the rails and stiles to fit into 2017-04-22 17.06.38.jpg

Welcome!  Congratulations.  A chicken coop is right up there on the list of "Family Feud" excuses to build a TARDIS.

And you look to be another very competent and well equipped builder.  A big part of me is always happy to see another one of those (but a little part of me always wants to see someone who builds a more rickety TARDIS than mine).  ;)

The last two days  I worked on the walls. I assembled the rails and stiles with pocket hole screws. I did this in the floor on my hands and knees, I'm getting too old for that Lol.2017-04-23 20.49.22.jpg

Almost exciting as watching the build will be seeing the adaptations that will be made to make it function for its intended purpose.  Because a chicken coop TARDIS has different requirements than a storage shed TARDIS than a take apart to bring to conventions TARDIS.

Very true! It's all kind of fluid right now.

Stewart, just curious, but have you seen sillysparrowness' http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=3153.0 yet? She also built hers to be a chicken coop. She's got a hilarious YouTube video on her build. It runs about 15 or so minutes, but it's worth the watch and it goes by before you know it. You'll find it in her Diary here: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=3153.195msg36761#msg36761.

Your Old Girl is coming along magnificently, and I thought you'd like to know that you've got a kindred spirit on the planet when it comes to building a TARDIS for a chicken coop. :)
