The Box on Shannon Corner - the junction of Beverley Way (formerly the Kingston By Pass) &  Burlington Road in New Malden - V32

Again a place where a great deal has changed. Due to the overpass, this is about as good as you can get for a POV street view --



The parking lot in front of Charrington's is gone, as is the old corner itself, meaning the Box would be in the middle of the current roadway  --



Probably just behind the car in the foreground.

Anyway here's an older Shannon Corner B&W Photo from the early 1950's

1956 at the earliest as there is an A35 in the picture

Note that the original Met Box at this location was a Mark 1 timber Box, while the photo here shows an early-to-mid model Mark 3, so most likely some time around 1935-1936 the Mark 1 was replaced by the then current model.
