I love the wooden room, with the raised platform, steps, and railings.  That with the size of the '96 room, but I have to have roundels and odd bits of furniture of the 60's--oh and the ceiling thingy from _An Unearthly Child_.

I would say a mixture of the 5 doctors console along with the new series tardis console room.

I'm leaning more and more towards the masters black console room (Planet of Fire/ The Ultimate Foe). Though I do also love the wooden one and the doctor's one post 5 Doctors.

Secondary faves would include the pyramids of mars era (those blue walls were also used in the Time Monster as the master's doors (moving) and in the back of the Doctor's Console room).

Personally my perfect console would be the 5 doctors new console Peter Davidson. thru Sylvester McCoy.

I dont like the new one, too big and unsophisticated. I like the computers and buttons on the 5 doctor console.

I REALLY like the NS one.

I love that it's old and cobbled together from stuff = like a 900 yr old machine would be.

I love that it's rough and needs mallets and pumps and whacks to work.

But I do miss the 'other doors' into the rest of the tardis. It seems like there is no other door.

All in all though, it took my breathe away when seeing it for the first time and still does today - I hope SM doesn't change it too much. Like with every Batman film they have to change the car and suit - I think that's silly.

We don't want a console room with nipples.... actually, we've had that with Rose and those tight t-shirts.
My pilot's license? That's out back in the Cessna. Or perhaps you're referring to my license to kill. Revoked. Trouble at the Kazakhstan border.

I could give you the details but then I'd have to kill you, which I can't do because my license to kill has been revoked.

:D

I would like to see the new console a bit more high tech tbh... I like the cobbled idea (the old one was a bit like that, pre-5 docs...) but I'm still not feeling the "any old junk" vibe...

I'm rather fond of Professor Chronotis's TARDIS in Shada - a Cambridge don's library with steam punk controls hidden behind wooden panels.  Wish I had a picture - I may have to scan one.

They were a bit tucked away at the sides - it would be nice to have the controls pop out of a leather-topped table - even a hexagonal one. The 1996 movie had a bit of that, but I think the console room was a bit too cathedral-like. I'd prefer something a *bit* cosier.
That slightly gothic Victorian feel evokes HG Wells/George Pal for me and feels very good.
I'd also prefer some controls that look like they might actually be usable for actual time travelling. It's hard to imagine feeding coordinates into a time machine using a handful of plumbing parts.  :D

Mine would be general new series size, the sunken grate flooring would be the same, but the walls would have more 80s type roundels, wouldn't be so "organic" looking, the console would be SIX SIDED, and the only thing I'd retain would be the column that goes up to the ceiling, the console would be completely new, and it'd be jam-packed (like an aeroplane cockpit is) with switches, dials, screens, lights, guages, etc. Maybe the actual face of each panel might glow like the new series one, or maybe they'd be black, but it would be intimidating looking with it's hundreds of switches, I've always thought the console should/would have way more controls than it did. There'd even be lights and switches underneath. And the general lighting in the room would be more atmospheric, probably with creepy downlights highlighting different bits and pieces.
Jeez, can you tell I've thought about this a bit before?

For Me it would have to be Hartnells original room and console.

Thats part of what got me hooked in the first place that and the TARDIS exterior, of course those Malevolent Pepperpots too.

This is a deceptively difficult question for me to answer because my opinion shifts over time, sometimes quite quickly and from one extreme to the next.

On the one hand - big fan of steampunk and faux Victoriana. If it's done properly it can look effective without looking overdone and gaudy, and of course it has the oft-quoted advantage of not dating in the way that high-tech looks can do. I adore the TVM's cavernous gothic console room, with its library and pillars and impressive console structure, but it just doesn't feel very TARDIS-like. Season 14's secondary console room is much more TARDIS-y, but the set looks unfinished (no time rotor, odd stained glass roundel placement, barely furnished, bad lighting - but the idea of high-tech controls being hidden behind fold-down panels in the console is very slick in comparison to the TVM's console, which I feel goes too far in the other direction).

On the other hand - also a big fan of antiseptic minimalism, as it looks quite timeless and alien. On screen the closest to this was probably the post-Five Doctors console room (the original 60s console room has a certain otherworldly grandeur, but I'm not a fan of the 70s console room where it looked quite shoddy and badly maintained).

On the grasping hand - the dome shape of the new series console room is a nice idea, as is the idea of the central column going to the ceiling, but I hate the junked-up organic sub-Farscape styling.

So I suppose in conclusion I like elements of each of the major console rooms, but no single one does it for me. One day I will conquer SketchUp or some other software package and render one of the versions in my head. For those of you familiar with it, imagine something a bit like the observatory in Myst III: Exile, with a secondary console room-style console, but with a time rotor of some sort and a domed ceiling.

I like the console room from the TV Movie. I'd have lots of nick nacks and mamentos from all my travles. I think I like the Hexagonal stile consoles as well. I don't dislike the new sieres but I prefer the angles to the round.

i like the tv movie version and the new series as well, i think its the industrial look of the set in the tv movie and the organic look of the new series.that i like.
