That last one is a severely chopped down toy M-16 with a 20 round magazine.  The barrel is cut out from the receiver to the front sight/gas block assembly (which forms the front of the "scope").  Buttstock is removed as well.  I wonder if that prop got reused as The Master's pistol in "Deadly Assassin."

Every time someone mentions the possibility of a prop being reused in another story, I run (figuratively) to my DVD rack and realize just how lacking my collection is. ("Deadly Assassin" is one of those I'm missing! ) Really need to hit up Amazon and start stuffing DVDs into the "Save for Later" section of my cart. Actually it's the wife's Amazon account so technically it's her cart; but she's a Whovian as well and never begrudges "us" another DVD when we can spare the pennies.

On another note, this also looks similar to one of the blasters Han Solo uses in the original 'Star Wars' films, and publicity photos. So maybe the BBC just created a cool-looking weapon that others made a variation of. (Yeah; they certainly made a cool-looking weapon!)

The Han Solo blaster is built off a WWI "broomhandle" Mauser automatic pistol.

...at least one of the versions resembled the Ogron Gun (at least in this publicity photo).

According to other prop replica sources, Solo's blaster was indeed based around a German C96 "Broomhandle" Mauser pistol, an early semi-automatic handgun with a 10-round internal magazine. It was available in 9mm Parabellum or .30 Mauser, or the M712 Schnellfeuer variant, which had a 20-round detachable magazine chambered in .30 Mauser. (This last one might have been the one that resembled the Ogron Gun.) The large flash hider at the muzzle came from the German MG81 machine gun from a fighter plane. The scope was the Hensoldt Wetzlar Ziel Dialyt 3x scope which was often seen on German sniper rifles such as the K98. (End of trivia.)

That was one complex prop! (Maybe the Ogron Gun is a little simpler to build.)

The Debate that surrounds the Solo gun is immense-there's a really good vid of Adam Savage building one on YouTube which highlights some of the complextites around the scope, the flash, the notch on the top etc.

However, I did notice a Rogue One blaster that looks suspiciously similar....

HA!  "Everything old is new again."  Now I may have to see if I can find a screencap of that gun in "Rogue One."  One of the reasons I'm familiar with the M-16 is my time as a Marine, but on a geekier note, when I was a little kid there was a TV show called "S.W.A.T." and I bought a toy S.W.A.T. M-16 with my allowance savings.  I think the barrel was a weak link and it got broke off just in front of the handguard at some point.  Then (and I'm going from memory here) since it didn't look like an M-16 any more, I decided it would be a pretty cool looking pistol so I sawed the buttstock off.  So I had a "blaster" very similar to this, way back in the '70s.  For all I know, it is still in a toybox in the basement of my parents' house, because my brother never throws anything away and he moved there after our Mom died (Dad died back in 2000). 

S.W.A.T.? Now you're dating yourself, Other Steve! (And guess what? I also watched that when I was a kid! ) I haven't gotten to see "Rogue One" yet. (Cinema seating does not agree with my back, so I have to wait for either the DVD or for it to show up on one of the cable movie channels. ) So thanks for posting the photo of that gun. It's certainly got the bones to build on for either the Solo or the Ogron Gun, and looking at the two I think the Ogron Gun is still the easier one.

Coasties also use M-16s, but it's only the Law Enforcement-trained guys and Gunner's Mates that get to handle them. Electronics techs like me only got to shoot them in Boot Camp (before I was an "ET") for basic weapons quals. After that - refresher quals only with pistols.

I'm thinking the handle & center of the body is the same as the Gorilla disintegrator, with the trigger guard removed & some added panels. Looking at the front of the gun, it has this, what looks like a slide track, to make the barrels interchangeable. It has that U shape hole on the Gorilla disintegrator.

I forgot to mention. I came across a toy BB gun that fits the solder blaster. It could also be used as the Masters stun gun in "Deadly Assassin"

Now I'm looking at the hole at the end of the barrel and thinking a BB gun wouldn't have that big a bore.  But a .22 Colt Woodsman might.  What I really need is more knowledge of British firearms in the mid-late 20th century. 

Now that *was* an interesting time. 

Is anyone know the measurements of the "Model 5 Winchester 353 Pellet Gun", or someone who might have one to get measurements from. I want to take a shot in molding a gun handle. All I'd need is a few pics of the gun on a measuring mat, width height. Maybe some pics of the gun with a measuring stick or caliper.

Best I can find is that it has a 7" barrel.  But I'm not a BB gun guy, so I don't know if the entire thing that breaks for cocking is the barrel or they consider part of that as the chamber or something.  Apparently if is the Diana Model 5, but was also rebranded and sold as the Winchester Model 353.
