I think it looks pretty damn spot on too :) How on earth did you do the eyes so neatly?

I used 1inch wooden balls, Drilled a recess in each and glued from behind.  The rest was airdry clay.  I used a perminant marker to draw the pattern.

Im building another but this time Im using clear balls for the eyes from one of the machines that you put a quarter in to and you get some small crappy toy.  anyway, behind it will be an LED so the eyes will light up.

The build diary is on the blog and shows how I made all the parts....

Hope it inspires a few people to make a couple of these beasties

If you do please let me know as I would love to add a few to my website

I found another variant of the Cybermat from one of the Doctor Who Adventure Games, Blood of the Cybermen.

Ah yes, can't forget Bitey. ;D

I found this template for a (rather basic) new series Cybermat made by the BBC. I also remember seeing one for the 60s style Cybermat, but I can't find it at the moment.

Do any "somewhat" accurate orthographic drawings exist for "Bitey" the Cybermat from "Closing Time"?

I thought I'd try my hand at a digital model I would share (for free) with the 3D community.

I forgot about the cybermites from "Nightmare In Silver"

There was actually a full size cybermat based on the Wheel in Space version supposedly as a kit available in the 80s I beleive which I think was advertised as being able to be fitted with a remote control, but I'm not sure it ever went into production as Ive never seen one. I just remember it being advertised once in DWM.

I remember that as well. I've still got the DWM with the ad in somewhere. I seem to recall seeing some pictures of a propertied completed version of the shell years back so if that was true there is definitely some out there...

A bit of googling finds a few shots of the Wheel in Space Cybermat, whom I shall call "Billybug"!Screenshot_20220918-222133_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20220918-222104_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20220918-222055_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20220918-222045_Chrome.jpg

I just had a weird Idea pop into my head. Can someone make Cyber-Mite earrings?

I just did a quick search for cyber mat or mite earrings & this is the closest I could find to my Cybermite earrings. https://myuntemperedschism.blogspot.com/2012/03/cybermat-earrings-12.html?lr=1

I'm still hoping to see a pare like the Photoshop I made. Anyone good at 3D printing? Please ad this to your to do list. OH PLEASE!

Anyone know if there any diagrams or blueprints to the "Revenge of the Cybermen Cybermat? I didn't see many screenshots o this thread, so I skimmed threw the episode. Let me know if any other scenes look good for capturing.  8)
In the first couple shots on this list of pics, I wanted to count how many plates it had to make up its body.

It looks like there are ten plates to the body, not including the head and the pointed tail piece. I always liked this Cybermat but thought its head was, well, a bit rubbish! It would be interesting to see it with a better head- one with eyes like the originals had.
