The idea was to have a PC case in form of a Tardis. The electronics decided the size of the corpus. For that reason it's not really to scale. It's about 52cm high and 24cm across. The plinth is 27cm wide.
Materials are 3mm and 5mm MDF, some 3D printed parts and signs laser printed on overhead film.

Front view. There is a sensor behind the panel to switch the computer on. The handles are a bit wide. In a 2.0 version they would be thinner. Also the lock would have to be repositioned and the sensor switch would be moved "behind" the lock.

As you can see I had to deviate from the real Tardis by adding some air vents. Not really "scale", but without them the computer would overheat.
It would be possible to use a computer hardware that would work with only some small openings, but I wanted a powerful computer with fast graphics card and overclocked processor.

As you can see the cables come out at the top. This causes the back side to be completely non-Tarids. In a version 2.0 the motherboard would be inverted and the cables would be lead through the plinth, allowing for a "regular" backside.

Next steps will be to add some sound and light effects, when the computer is starting or shutting down.
After that I will probably start with version 2.0 and correct all the mistakes, have a nicer backside and stretch it a bit. It's not as squat as the pictures make it appear, but the proportions could be a bit slimmer.

absolutely

what're the specs? been thinking about making something similar to this, actually.

Took a while to get some stuff from China.
So I added a "start animation" to be run when the computer is switched on. Best explained by showing:

Video is in German, but it really doesn't matter.
