Nice images Man!

I'll agree with that!

The other day I was cycling to work and found these in the streets.:

You seem to get very lucky in this sort of way, Nate. (I think I need to start travelling the same streets as you! ;D)

The weird part - trying to figure out why so many were on that street corner.

It will have been people doing laughing gas...

Or paintball battles, dude: paintball battles. Those are probably CO2 cartridges that you can get in any store selling either BB gun or paintball supplies, or maybe even someone having a party and using those to add carbonation to drinks. (They actually sell those gizmos in stores now where you can carbonate any drink you want.)

Laughing gas is a "controlled substance"; you can't just buy it in mass quantity like above, if at all. If you need laughing gas, some sort of medical or dental professional is going to administer it to you.

Great find, Nate! Are those the 8g cartridges or the 12g? The thread that Steve linked to mentions the 8g size being used on the prop.

People don't do paint-balling in the street though, and laughing gas is really easy to get hold of, controlled substance or not... really easy to get hold of. I've seen the empty cartridges in bear gardens and on quiet street corners. Not that it matters, it's the staser that may come from them, that's the important thing lol.

Do you think these knobs are the correct size for the Arc of Infinity Staser?

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Looks right to me.

I managed to pick some up that looked about the right size when compared to Sarah Sutton's hands and the cylinders.

(first screen grab i could find; however I have better ones somewhere...)

I'll dig them out of the shed and have a measure. I'm sure they are about 20mm in diameter but I will come back to you on that...

I actually handled the real thing when I was a kid at the 20th Anniversary convention. Somewhere there's a photo of 12 year old me holding it along with
Ringway's pistol from Earthshock (Which was a lot heavier than it looked...)

I never noticed it before (and if I did I've forgotten), but that looks like some seriously thick perspex in Sarah Sutton's hands. What was the body of that staser made from? Half-inch thick perspex? Or is it just an optical illusion making it look that thick?

And, Steve, isn't amazing how much bigger and heavier things were when we were 12 years old? ;D

I get some luck every now and again. The parts are all over the place and for a variety of different things, but never for the prop you are working on at the moment.   :P ::)

Well, going by the image elkad posted in that other thread (linked above):
CO2Cartridges.jpg
the 12g cartridges are three inches long and the 8g are about 2.5 inches long. If my stanky old wizzard eyes are working and judging your cartridges against the measuring mat correctly, they look about 2.5 inches long so would be the 8g size. According to elkad's post in the aforementioned thread, that is the size they used on the actual props, so you can build an arsenal to defend the Capitol!

I don't know what this says about my neighbourhood but I have found literally 5-6 of these air canisters on the pavement in my local area.

I've been meaning to cast them and paint them up for use on a stazer.

I'm starting a measurement diagram of the Sniper Rifle... (Is it spelled Stazer or Staser), from "Deadly Assassin". There are some things I'm not to sure of, like the shape of the gun stock. Has anyone seen a gun stock image that would be a close resemblance to this one?

I need some help measuring this sniper rifle. I'm using the 8g co2 cartridge as a reference when I resize the image. I must of made a mistake somewhere because my recent measurements don't add up.
When it comes to math & working out what measurements go were. I need a score board to keep track what I need to make a good blueprint.
This is my recent pic, please let me know were I flubbed up.

I put letters to the individual parts to make identification a little easer.

A. 8g CO2 Cartridge Head, neck & body
B. Sniper Scope eye peace
C. Sniper Scope body
D. Sniper Scope & Gun Stock Grip slide latch
E. Gun Barrel
F. Gun Stock & Grip Rod's
G. Gun Grip Pin
H. Trigger Rod
I. Trigger Guard
J. Gun Barrel Gap
K. Slide Latch

I also found an image of various gun stocks. I'm thinking the C Stock looks the closest to the screencaps. Unless someone knows of a closer one. I need an image to go on. I can't find a clear image in the screencaps on the first page.
