What absolutely love about this pic, though,  is the way Billy is explaining things to the cowboy, just as if it's all real!

You can really hear him saying, "That's the scanner switch...That's the dematerialisation lever....That's the door control....over there is picture messaging...."

The guy's definitely not from The Gunfighters, he's a bit too OTT even for that story.  All the characters have a good laugh at Steven's 'Hollywood cowboy' outfit in episode one.  

I'd put money on this being from Feast of Steven.  Good if it is because we have so few pictures of incidental characters from that episode.

As one who was raised in The Bronx, NY, and heard all of the various accents of New York City's different boroughs: Bronx accent (Telly Savalas from 'Kojak'), Brooklyn accent (Jimmy Durante), Manhattan accent (Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis), etc., I still get that "Oh, jeez!" reaction at the caricature of a "New Yorker" in the Empire State Building tour guide from that same scene. (Never heard a New York City accent like that before!)

But like Russell and Kert said, just looking at that photo I can hear William Hartnell speaking as they described...

Gunfighters is a story seldom watched by me, much like a flying DeLorean in 2015, there's something very familiar about all this...

It is a Feast of Steven photo - there were quite a few taken that day. Some shot of Jean Marsh as Sara Kingdom posing against the console.

I checked with Richard Bignell and according to him when "it first appeared in DWM449, it was identified as being from The Feast of Steven."

Wow Tony, those pictures! Never seen any colour pics from Masterplan before.

As well as Jean Marsh being a good actress, I think Sara Kingdom was a character with great potential and should have stayed longer.

I know that there are a couple in colour from "Master Plan" but tracking them down is 'problematic' to say the least (let alone getting permission to share them)!

Marc, you are correct about the right hand picture - it is by Chris. I didn't know this but, I've been in touch with him and he's said he'll try and dig out the full picture for us (which is really nice of him).

Bringing this thread back on topic, these pictures of the Tardis interior have been shared here (and elsewhere) before but have previously been credited as being from The Celestial Toymaker:



However, in conversation with The Radio Times' Patrick Mulkern via Twitter, it seems they do - in fact - originate from "Galaxy Four".

A lower definition version of this picture (which is contained on the Keys to Marinus DVD) has been shared here before but - thanks to Richard Bignell - here is a better version:



(The picture has been slightly brightened to show the colour of the Tardis's 3D walls - a very pale green!) It therefore seems that when the original 'bucket' roundel mouldings were replaced, the Tardis' 3D walls were repainted in off-white/pale grey!

Always thought the walls from The Time Meddler+ were a beige colour...

From the images you've posted, you can see that the walls seem to vary in colour across the photos.

These photos were all taken on the same day and within minutes of each other. So, the walls can't be changing colour. Any perceived difference is therefore much more likely to be due to the film stock/exposure/reproduction.

In addition, the Tardis' walls were actually cut down in height at some point in early 1966 (you can see the uppermost 'half' roundels are no longer semi-circular).

I assume but can't prove that this cutting down occurred at the same time the console was repaired with the metal trims (i.e., after the recording of The Celestial Toymaker but before Power of the Daleks). So, that's two refits that were undertaken - one to replace the bucket mouldings and a second to reduce the height of the walls. It's entirely possible that the walls were repainted on both these occasions.
