Here is the write up/description that they had on the page as well:
A set of original tools used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.
From the 1982 serial Earthshock starring Peter Davison these formed part of the TARDIS tool kit utilised by The Doctor to defuse the Cyber bomb. This set consists of three tools, the Magnetic Clamp, the Magnetic Drone and the Stalos Gyro, the first two being referred to by name in Earthshock and the latter being referenced in the 1983 publication The Doctor Who Technical Manual. Following its use in Earthshock the tool kit went on to make brief appearances in other episodes and these tools can also be seen as it is used by The Doctor in the 1983 serial Mawdryn Undead.
The tools were built by the BBC Visual Effects Department and are constructed from various materials. The Magnetic Clamp has been built from a variety of sourced plastic parts and features a dial to one end with a telescopic centre section and thumb screw, the underside of the larger end contains magnets which are secured in place with filler. The Magnetic Drone is constructed of turned metal with a plastic base which also contains magnets and a quantity of filler while the Stalos Gyro is again of metal construction with plastic parts.
The Magnetic clamp measures approximately 16" long when closed with the Drone and Stalos Gyro approximately 5" and 5.5" respectively, they remain in generally excellent screen used condition.

*NOTE* the item on the end of the magnetic clamp, is a speaker face down if anyone didn't recognize it.

Great images, Nate, and great forethought about that link going dead one day. We've got enough of those dead links in many threads - too many, in fact. And Chris, great transcription of the descriptions of those items; and good eyes catching that "face down" speaker! (another little bit of magnet added to the other magnets on the prop.)

At least the prop guys made those magnetic tools actually magnetic. Brilliant idea on their part, especially of the plans didn't call for the magnets. (Too bad we can't see the concept art for those tools.) And I still say that Stalos Gyro looks very much like some sort of bottle opener!

your welcome, I just copied & pasted the transcript from their page, also saved the images to put up but got beat at the post, all good. 

I think the purpose of the magnets in both of those props was to hold it to the metal door of the toolkit box.

So Peter Jackson himself purchased what there is of the TARDIS kit...

All those mannequins - I'd hate to walk around there at night... 

I counted three Daleks, plus on picture 66 there is what looks suspiciously like a TARDIS on the balcony.

My guess is its about the size of the Logopolis model, but hard to say for sure.

Don't feel too bad, Steve. Remember you're working with what you have when it comes to displaying your collection. With the money Peter Jackson made from all of those 'Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings' films, he could probably buy several studies that are the size of your house if he wanted to!

What is the M-PO? Withe the numbers running around the side it could be a watch or a campus or something.

"M-PG" to me  seem like a mileage/fuel economy meter. "Miles-Per Gallon" meter.

I think I've just found out what these things (magnets) are on the bottom of the magnetic clamp.

I knew they were magnets, but not what they were called.
