i'm having trouble finding white Plexiglas. are there any stores that you might know of that carries it or should i check out a sign shop? i was planning on using it to make my windows my tardis is not accurate to any prop i just want it to look very tadisy.

thanks scarfwearer i picked up a piece of that diffuser i think it'll be fine after i make a few adjustments to it. also it was cheap, i'll be able to use that extra cash to get better signs now.

thanks chris, i'm in the us.  also i don't use credit cards so its a little hard for me to get stuff on line. has any one had any luck finding glass at antique shops?

If you're just talking about frosted plexiglas, what you could do is buy some regular plexiglas and then get someone to sandblast one side of it.

I initially just used diffusers for suspended ceiling strip lights. They come in 2'x4' sheets in places like Home Depot or Lowes for $5-$10 each. They also have a variety of textures, including a white one much like the new series windows. I haven't found them in the UK though - anyone know of a source?

For the makeover, I used acrylic window 'safety' glass, also from Home Depot, and frosted it using an orbital sander (in a few minutes). That stuff is quite a bit more expensive though.
For the pebbled glass, I used hammered-effect glass from Spectrum Glass. I bought it online, but you could probably find a glass/glazing shop around that would order it for you.

Crispin
