No mate, the release details (both black & white and colour versions) are from the BBC.

Sorry, I meant your quasi-3d room picture used in the previous message. I ignored the coloured one of your last message, my bad.

Ah - okay. In that case I apologise for posting the quasi-3D image!

There's so much being posted everywhere about "Power" I should have triple checked that one.

The main point I was making still stands - I'm looking forward to "Power" and I am surprised that there will be four separate releases - two of which will be in colour!

The revelation that "Power" will be available in colour came as a big surprise and I checked that four times before I posted it. (I'm disappointed that the colour version will only be available in the UK to download or on Blu-ray in February 2017 whereas (apparently) the USA will get a colour DVD as well.)

Incidentally, it's now been suggested that "Power" will actually premier on Twitter (though I haven't had time to confirm this one).  :)

Gosh, you're right (I haven't been keeping up to date) that is alot of going ons with Power. I suspect the BBC are doing everything BUT play it in all Cineworld cinemas in the UK in hopes of it selling enough to cover production costs, probably.

I don't think many have the wallet to handle allll of that but I'm sure we'll all witness the new animation soon enough.

I agree - this seems to be a major investment by the BBC and today's revelations would indicate that they're throwing everything including the kitchen sink at it!

I hope it pays off.  :)

I know.  I meant that they are really milking it.

Let's hope that this goose really has laid a golden egg and - in the absence of missing episodes resurfacing - it paves the way for more!

It's confirmed, however it's only the first three minutes that will premier on Twitter, as a teaser to convince people to go to the BBC Store and download the full episode.

:D

Can you blame them, though? i think we all hope this is an experiment that's going to work, and that we can all look forward to other stories being animated.

Macra Terror anyone? :)

Erm - I think "Evil of the Daleks" would be preferable Steve!  :)

I'd like to see both stories animated, eventually. After all, Troughton's era was the hardest hit when it came to the BBC's destruction of episodes, so the more of his that are restored, the better.

And the wife received one of the Doctor Who Web Site's e-newsletters with this link in it, "Power Of The Daleks" Cinema Event, so hopefully this, along with the DVD sales, will provide some of that funding for further story restoration (as well as a recoup of the money spend restoring "Power"). And with ticket prices going for $16.50 US (for all ages), I think they'll pull in some good money.

It says it's a US event, but I'm sure other countries will also see it in their cinemas.

You know, I've never really been a fan of Evil of the Daleks...

I mean, the first couple of episodes are good, and episode 7 is fantastic (Daleks fighting Daleks - who does not want to see that?) but for me the story has sagged by the time we get to Jamie's ridiculous Krypton Factor assault course episodes. I mean, seriously how did Maxtible build all that stuff in his house?

Of course I'd love to see the remaining six episode gap filled with animation, but there's a number of other stories I'd be more eager to see first...

Macra would be my choice too

Anyone watched this yet?

I managed to grab the first 3 episodes before the download settings were rest by BBC Store. (They are supposed to be releasing it one episode a day, but I'm guessing someone lent on a button and they all went out :D)

I've seen the first two so far and I'm really impressed. The animation is really well done. Whilst some of the characters wide angle walking shots look a little odd, the close ups look perfect and the voice sync is not too shabby at all.

(I did notice a continuity error in episode 1 regarding Ben and Polly's clothes though ;))

Forget about the TARDIS interior pictures posted upthread, they are nothing like the ones actually used in the final product!

Roll on Macra Terror, or Evil, or maybe Daleks Master Plan - although I suspect the number of new sets and characters required for Evil and Master Plan may make it unviable for the time being...
