So one day I thought, what if H.G. Wells had a TARDIS? So here it is! (well, it's not done yet, but, I felt like showing it off as I make progress on it) (also this was inspired a bit by the 8th doctor's console room)

So this is a render of the earliest design, not too good if you ask me.

This is a render of the second design, looking better, but, it's still missing something.

Here is a render of the current design, and, yes, that giant gear is a whirligig. :D

That's an interesting concept, Fez. I don't think anyone's tried this idea before. She's looking pretty good so far. I can't wait to see where this goes. (That whirligig looks a little dangerous, though; I hope it spins slowly!)

Added some main lighting and some arches at the entrance.

Nothing really big to update on. But, I made the glass on the glass bits more clear.

She's looking nice so far, fez. As for making the glass clearer, to me it look like the glass is "thicker", or as if the lights are dimmed in a "standby" mode. The first image makes those three lights look like they're brighter, maybe in "Operation Mode".

Both images look amazing and I can't tell which one I like better. I like them both! And I also love the simplicity of the panel: simple yet functional. Now I can't wait to see what you've got in store for the other panels.

Nicely done!

That looks amazing! I really hope there will be some sort of railing on that upper catwalk and archway. (I don't do well with heights these days, and haven't for a number of years now.)

Upper area? Oh, do you mean how on the ceiling it looks like there is another room? If you do mean that, well it's just a reflection, it's a large glass area with orange light behind it (that's how I got the lighting for the room) I don't plan on having an upper area.

Really reminds me of playing the original Quake :)

What are you using to render?

sonicfez

I'm using Blender to model and render. But using the Cycles render engine.

Yeah... that's it. In that "fish-eye" view of the room it looks exactly like there's a catwalk above the room with that other archway leading to somewhere - or from somewhere to an observation balcony where someone could look down at the console room and watch what goes on.

Interesting. Would it be possible to get a long shot view of the room without the "fish-eye" effect? That might give a better representation of how that brilliant room actually looks, and make that reflection more visible as a reflection.

New rotor design, I personally like it way more than the original.
