Sorry i know this post is about the Tardis interior but did anyone notice last night that when the Doctor and Amy were talking at the tardis door at the end of the episode that the door sign seemed to be back lit so the letter edges were illuminated ?

Yup, I saw it too, but I thought it was some sort of metallic ink catching the lights....

Yeah, and I saw it on "The Eleventh Hour" too.  I like that they have illuminated the door sign, just like on a real Police Box.

Didn't spot it on The Eleventh Hour, but did notice it last night...
I have always fancied doing a lit phone door on my box, however with the phone on the inside it's a problem to be overcome...

Would luminescence work?

Personally, it looks frontlit to me.  Didn't catch it until I found the 'victory of the daleks' episode online yesterday though.

You can wire them up together, it can be fairly inexpensive

You could always build a box that the phone door would open into on the back of the actual left hand (facing it) door, instead of placing the phone on the phone door.  Real Police Boxes had a cubby inside that had a phone in it not on the translucent phone door.  Then you could light the inside of the cubby without having to pay for a Light Sheet for the outside of the phone door.  Just print you phone door sign on translucent glass/plastic.  It is what I will probably end up doing.

I disagree due to the fact that Amy's shadow is against the phone door in VotD and it still looks lit up.

It looked backlit to me in this past episode.

If those things are not too expensive They could be good to use in the sign boxes and also I guess if you wanted for every window.
They certainly appear to be low on the electricity consumption side....

Can't help but wonder if they have them inside the windows on the front, photos from filming (at least from the next episode) showed that the windows were not lit, but so far they all have been, and uniformly so.
