I still say that when looking at her from that angle, I could swear you'd materialised her in the same corner of my back yard, and around my old, very large maple tree! (You might want to take a walk through her hallways just to make sure there isn't a very large maple in there somewhere. That would mean she's in two places at the same time since my maple does appear to still be there. Or would that make it she's in one place at different times?)

Ironically, my earlier builds were the pre-1955 paintjob and my later ones were the later post-1955.  OK.  Maybe that isn't ironic.  Still, amusing to me.

I've finally got a good take on the title card.  The one from the pilot is more of a beauty shot, but I'd need a junkyard to put around it for that.  The angle and the cropping aren't perfect, but I'm quite pleased; it captures the effect and if you didn't have them side by side to compare...

RetroTV did the last ep of War Machines and the first of The Dominators today and I realized my coat is actually fairly close to the Troughton coat--single breasted, notch lapels, chest pocket...  So I'm actually quite happy with it as a general Doctor coat.  The leading edge could be a touch more rounded, but at least it isn't totally square like a frock coat.  I may have another go at the darker trousers (sadly with turnups/cuffed) and maybe a bowtie.  I can't quite pull the trigger on the fin de Seicle tie that Hartnell wears.

Troughton wears a Mourning Coat, with modified pouch pockets on the sides. In some scenes you can see how they really bulge out and how large the openings are. (Just Google 'mourning coat' and look at the images. Maybe you could slightly modify your coat to match?)

Check some second-hand shops for trousers with a fine to medium houndstooth pattern, with the base color being a light tan. That should work well. It's where I found my Hartnell and Troughton trousers. (And with Troughton, if the trousers are a little on the large size, even better since everything on his costume was a bit oversized.)

For his bow tie - especially the polka dotted one - find a child's pre-tied black or navy blue tie with white dots. Sometimes his tie was so small (as seen in "The Three Doctors") you can even go for an infant's pre-tied bow tie (they do make them). Then all you need to do is carefully slide out the strap that goes around the neck, which will leave you with a plain bow tie, and then slip a safety pin through the loop where the strap came out. Now all you need to do is leave the top button of your shirt open and use the safety pin to pin the bow tie to the shirt, going through the top buttonhole and next to the top button. (Take a look at mine in my http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=2884 thread. Granted, The Evil One made the tie for me, but it's the same size as a child's or infant's bow tie.)

For Hartnell's tie, get a length of navy blue or black ribbon about an inch thick, and then tie it around your collar in a bow like you would tie a shoelace. Make sure the length after you've tied it is long enough so both the loops and loose ends droop down so if you draw an imaginary line from armpit to armpit, they would hang just below that line. That's really all Hartnell's tie was.

Oooh lovely!

Today I got the obligatory snow pic since the latest renovation.  Actually, there's been work since the renovation.  If you look not that closely, you'll see black areas.  This is a rubber-based roof patching compound that I've put over some gaps and cracks.  I'd hoped to use up the rest of the can on the TARDIS before adding paint, and the black isn't that far off from the blue so I've left it for now. 

And I'm still trying to lick the stupid leak in my garage roof, so I'm not quite ready to use up all my roof patch compound.   

A good thing about TARDISes is that they should look like battered up decades old concrete that's been painted a whole bunch of times, so the texture of the roof patch material just adds to the verisimilitude. 

(This is coming straight off the phone, so we'll see if it comes out oriented right.)

Yep.  I've got her just about done.  3 things I can think of to do--4, I guess: 
1) My signal lamp isn't a proper lens.  It's just Fresnel shaped.  But they make those plastic magnifiers.  I can get one of those pretty cheap and stick it inside to give a magnification effect. 
2) I've got some fiberglass resin.  I want to clean up the top row of windows (which are sanded down "crackle" pattern fluorescent light diffusers) and fill the texture with resin to see if I gen get them more transparent (but not totally transparent, since this is a storage shed and I don't want people seeing the boxes and paint cans inside). 
3) Get a military surplus field phone and run a line to the garage so I have an actual working hotline phone. 
4) Make the phone door so it opens (obviously) 
5) Doctor the field phone so it looks more like a proper call box phone
6) *Among* the things I have to do... wire said phone to a bulb in the signal beacon so it lights up when the phone rings. 

She looks smurferific in the snow, Other Steve! (I was at a loss for a superlative, so I fell back on one I've been using on rare occasions since 1982.)

However, I think your counting skills are a bit off:

It's been freezing rain for the past 24 hours.  For various reasons, I haven't had to drive.  But I do have a very stubborn lab/border collie mutt, which means that rain, hail, sleet, snow, or all the above, we go for a walk in the morning and a walk in the evening.  After managing to avoid freezing to death or breaking my neck this morning, I'm procrastinating right now--even though the promised rise in temperature has not happened today.  Constant 30-ish.  Right at freezing so you've got water on top of ice. 

Off topic, but we didn't go for the afternoon walk. I grudgingly got all suited up and opened the door and The Dog just stood inside and looked at me like "You're joking, right?" 

Thankfully, this is Portland, so all the snow and ice are gone now.  Although it looks like curtains for my outdoor water bamboo.  Turns out spending 24 hours encased in 1/4" of ice isn't the best for a subtropical plant.
