Awesome!! But what about the wooden console from the Tom Baker era? That would be awesome to see :)

Like Steve, Mark's attention to detail is brilliant - he's even got the little triangles on the control panels' bottom edges correct! (These triangles were originally fitted to disguise the damage to the panels' edges). And, he's even gone to the trouble of adding a bit of aluminium tape on the fascia (again originally fitted to hide damage). It's 'finishing' details like that which really impress me...

The wiring looks identical to ours but I can't quite make out if you used the same little brackets on Mark's version we did on the lamp holders for ours? If so, it's a neat little trick which is well worth repeating!

However Steve, you've missed a trick here - you should have made a video of the Pertwee Column next to Mark's/Timerotor's Davison version - now that would be something you wouldn't see everyday!  ;)

Well done every body involved!

This is my favorite TARDIS console.  I was aware that it existed but now we can see it live for ourselves.

Thank you TimeRotor for allowing your labour of love to be put on public display.

Best regards,
Sean Clarke.

This is wonderful! Congratulations and thanks to all involved!

I'm going to have to make another pilgrimage...

Its wired the same; however instead of using the flashing lamps, this version has a two channel "changeover" relay circuit to make the lights on each circuit flash alternately (the same way the rotor did when it was at the end of its life).

The other difference is that the red cylinders are each fitted with a fluorescent tube rather than the two tungsten filament lamps that were fitted previously in the props life. Again this reflects the refit work carried out prior to Warriors' Gate which lasted through to the end of its serviceable life.

Earlier you mentioned that you'd love to have seen the original version of this console on show. As I understand it, thats never going to be possible. I was told that the Experience is only looking to include items that are original, or at least contain screen used components. As we know the original Sharp console stopped existing in its original form around 1975 :(

I keep saying this but I've a wallet with some lottery tickets in it which are currently unchecked. If the numbers come in I will be buying a warehouse somewhere in Hampshire and building replicas's of all the console rooms. Everyone will be invited round to come round for a TARDIS Experience :D

Did you document any of the construction/restoration process at all? I saw th images about the rotor itself.

fivefingeredstyre

I had nothing to do with the restoration of the console, i'm afraid. All credit there goes to TimeRotor! I only has the small job of working on lighting the rotor itself.

Is that Tegan's original flight bag and hat on the hatstand to?

I have to go and see this. My last (and only) visit to the experience was on my 40th birthday - 29th October 2013. I was chomping at the bit to see the 5 Doctors console and it was away being refurbished, I was totally gutted. I emailed the experience and asked if it was coming back but they never responded. I'd said I wasn't going again but this console and some of the other recently restored classic props make me want to plan a return visit!

Congrats to Mark on another superb restoration. Is there no end to the mans talents!

I wonder if they will remake the walls for the 5 Doctors version now that they seem to have it down. The roundels are too deep and no rectangle posts. Maybe the door wall. It's always bothered me that the inner lights weren't red anymore.

That looks stunning.

I'm surprised that the inclusion hasn't been mentioned anywhere that I've seen - it should be!

Just been sent another picture of the finished display

Cannot wait to see this for real...

This look absolutely amazing! It's just annoying that Cardiff is so far away  :(
Well, of course I'm being childish! There's no point being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes.

This is fantastic. What is the provenance of the console frame itself (as opposed to the controls)? Is any of it original?
