The plaque is from the BBC store? That's a new one on me. (Guess where I'm going in a few minutes, to have a poke around just for giggles.)

Gloyny, I don't suppose you could find a link to post for this? Of the "BBC Stores" I've come across, one said it was not available to the US or Canada, one had no sign of the plaque and seemed to only have scarf replicas, other clothing items, cups, and bits of jewelry, and one only sold DVDs (which were also not available to the US or Canada).

Sort of irritating when web sites do that. (Why can't we be just one big happy planet?)

Sure...

I will see what I can find as I didnt buy it from there directly.

I'm also informed you can get these from forbiddenplanet

Thanks for the info, gloyny. The one on eBay is $60.98 US - with "May not ship to the United States... The seller has not specified a shipping method to United States. Contact the seller- opens in a new window or tab and request shipping to your location." This bit always scares me because past experience showed me shipping costs that were in excess of $60 US.

The one at Forbidden Planet (both sites) have it listed for only $48.72 US, but also are on back order - no estimated delivery date, but at least they let you enter your e-mail so you will get a notice as soon as one becomes available.

In all cases they state the manufacturer is Rubbertoe, so I'm really surprised as the price difference - eBay coming very close to the Rubbertoe price (Rubbertoe's includes shipping to "rest of the world"), and Forbidden Planet being close to $13 US lower. The shipping, though: the eBay one really worries me, and because the Forbidden Planet ones are on back order you don't get an estimate on shipping. If they're anything like Rubbertoe was when this first came out, shipping to the US will have a cost that's higher than the price of the plaque! (That's an awful lot for a piece of 4-inch by 10-inch etched perspex.) Although I have to give Rubbertoe credit; when he first came out with this, buying the plaque directly from his site the cost was $60 or so US, with shipping to the US at $65 US - total cost $125 US! Now he's come down to where the total cost for one including shipping is $61.19 US. Still, that's a lot for what's basically a small piece of plastic.

I've got a couple of replicas that friends sent me that are really close - one of them being made from a graphic I created for a local friend to try etching with his "compu-carve" that runs off of his computer. Both are very nice - one from hardboard and one from sheet metal - so I think I'll just stick with those until my friend can get his comp-carve to work on perspex/plexiglass. (Right now it just has bits for work like this on wood.)

These commercial plaques are excellent and I would love to get one from the maker that made the original for the 2010 console prop, but as it stands, $60 or so US is a little more than I really want to spend. So you're quite lucky to have gotten yours the way you did. (And I think that deserves to have a little Envy(microbial).jpg thrown in! :D)

Awesome day, looking forward to day two tomorrow!

Katy Manning draping herself on a Dalek... why does that seem familiar?  ;D

Your Tardis is looking very imposing there, certainly has a presence.

Yeah... I was thinking the same thing. I've got an image that could explain why, but I think if I posted it, it would be the last you'd ever see of me on here! (Anyone really curious about that, just search Google Images for "Katy Manning Dalek".)

I couldn't agree more! And with Jo (Grant) Jones herself next to the Old Girl? Well that just sort of cements things!

Lovely pictures.

Always great to get an update on how people's TARDISes are doing.

So often people build a great TARDIS, then vanish from the site so we never see them again.

I love to see if a TARDIS has been out & about at a show, or if it's had a new paintjob, or what measures have been employed to keep it weatherproofed & in good nick.

All fascinating stuff!

Thanks for posting.

Thanks Russell.

We have had a few opportunities, you may recognise these two?

They do look familiar...
eeeerrrmmm......

Were they fifth & sixth Voord on the left in "Keys of Marinus?"   ;D    ;)

Just kidding!
Great pics.

Nicola still looks great, & Colin is really such a great guy at conventions.

Thanks for posting!

I managed to get both Colin and Nicola to get inside and sign one of the panels:

Knowing I've had No. 6 and Peri through the door definitely adds something.

I've also had my St. John's badge 3D printed.

The 3D effect might not be to everyone's taste, but I'm happy with it:
