What is the size of the 2005 console

kiwidoc

It depends which numbers you want to know.  It's roughly 6 feet across at the widest point, but from floor to top of rotor, it's the size of a TV studio .  :)

This post here (http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=1111.msg69407#msg69407) has some decent guesstimates of the console's measurements. All of the guesstimates are based around the only known measurement which is the diameter of the central column's outer cover: 18 inches. (There's more on that in other posts in that topic.)

As for the height? Well, kiwidoc pretty much has it. When you look at the reference images in this Board (http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?board=58.0) that show a view of the entire console room, from floor level - the actual floor, not the grating you stand on to get at the console - to the top of the ceiling (where the "bee hive" fixture brings the top of the central column to the console room ceiling), it's 18 feet. (And for a diameter of the circular console room you're looking at 35 feet, base of wall to base of wall.)

The entire console from floor to top, not counting the column or the collar the column is mounted on, one "under construction" image in that reference section shows a worker near the console when it's only ribs, and the console looks to be at least 6 feet tall. This means the part that is sticking up from that grating is between 3 and 4 feet tall. But with that image that has the measurements on it using the column's 18-inch diameter as the reference, you should be able to guesstimate just how tall the exposed part of the console is.

I hope this helps.
