I spent most of Saturday, and went through a lot of different set ups and solutions, but finally got my top lamp working on battery power AND via remote control....

The battery unit is hidden in the square base inside the roof.

All of my lighting etc. runs on battery power rather than mains to give me the mobility.

Very happy with the look, and the extra gadget!

I have an event this weekend, so hopefully will post up some photos of it on the box...

A couple of quick ones from Fantasticon today:

Only just managed to squeeze her in under the glass dome...

My good friend Rob Phillip's Dalek "Jast" kept us company.

Another full day tomorrow....

I had the pleasure of meeting Simon Fisher-Becker, aka Dorium Maldovar this weekend:

Not as blue in real life  ;D , but another true gent who posed with the box...

Harry Potter's "Death Eater" - Jon Campling...

Jon's ambition - like everyone else, is to be the next Doctor....

Have to say, he would make a pretty good one.

I've also met Simon Fisher-Becker and he is a thoroughly charming man to talk to. I must say that "would you like to pose with my Tardis" probably makes a nice change for actors from the usual "can I pose like a grinning idiot next to you?". It definitely works, this weekend Simon, Jon and Toby Longworth ( voice of the Doctor Who audio dramas by Big Finish Productions ) were all more than happy.

Jon Campling even asked if his mum could join him to pose for a photo as the companion to his Doctor... ;)

Once upon a time, in another life, I did the Winchester Apple Festival, as a USMC 2nd Lt escort for one of the Apple Princesses.  The Grand Marshall was Dan Ackroyd.  Some other dignitary was Irlene Mandrell.  Both were great people.  I have a photo of myself and around 20 other Marines with Dan Ackroyd.  Somewhere, Irlene Mandrell has a photo of herself with me and a half dozen other Marines.  I wanted to be in a photo with Dan Ackroyd.  Irlene Mandrell wanted to be in a photo with *me*.  (Or at least what I represented.)

I suspect this is the deal with TARDISes.  If you see Patrick Stewart on the street, you want to get a picture with him.  If Patrick Stewart sees your TARDIS, he wants a picture of himself with it.

I've not had a lot of time to work on the box recently...

Did get chance to start the telephone box build:

This has a long way to go before it'll be where I want it to be...

That's a very nice phone you have there.
And I absolutely love the hooks for the shades & the sonic- an inspired little touch!

Nowhere near as cool as the map inside yours! - loved that when I saw the photos.

As ever, tried to do something "different but in keeping"....

Added a VIN plate....

Yes! Very nice! Very nice, indeed. I love that "VIN" plaque; it looks beautiful! Is it one of Rubbertoe's replica plaques?
