Hello my friends

This reminds me of a lovely pic in a book, which if I am right was about the Graeme Harper stories of 'Classic Who', and shows behind the scenes for The Caves of Androzarni, which I recall thinking about at the time was a rare sight. It got me wondering, did any one get in touch with Barry Newbery before he sadly passed away, to see if he would have given the go ahead to a similar book with pics from the stories he was working on as designer. It could prove useful to anyone with questions on how his Police Box prop was assembled in studio or on location. I for one do love his PPCB and wish to know more about it.

I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read somewhere that the Newbery was a fixed fiberglass unit and didn't come apart (aside from the lamp on top). That Old Girl also didn't have any back wall, just a black curtain hanging across the opening. And on David's post: We see the lamp in the ground, patiently waiting to be hoisted up. It looks like that little lamp has its own travel box. (I bet the Classic lamps didn't - poor things; it's probably why they sometimes got left behind and we saw a few stories with a lampless TARDIS, like the lampless Newbery in "The Sun Makers".)

Yes, that's the one. I remember thinking that I would have loved to have been there, and able to take those sort of pics. One other thing, I was wondering, is wouldn't it have been great if someone put a book together with pics that people took during visits to the studio, similar to when the Radio Times or a daily newspaper did an article, so they are in one place.
