Hey guys, here you will find some of the models that I have designed both in the past and what I have recently been doing. I know that these aren't finished designs, but they are just some of the ideas that pop into my head and I just put them into sketchup before the idea 'fades'. I will start with the first design that I uploaded working towards the most recent, I will from now on only be updating this page so that all my work will be in one place. I hope that you enjoy looking at my designs.

Nice work! I really like the first and the last one you posted, although I feel like the first might be just a bit too much of a mish-mash of different versions. I think the last one you posted is probably my favorite out of the two.

Thanks, and yeah the Mk 1 was the first design that I had done; so I just tried to merge all the things that I liked from the show to date. I feel that now it is too "busy" looking and doesn't quite fit as a design the Doctor would like.
The Mk 4 design I am much more happy with at the moment, there are a few things that I still need to add to it. In regards to the Undecided Room, what do you suggest that the room should become as my original idea was going to be a "Storage/Cargo bay" where the Doctor could keep ships and transport he has borrowed and not returned.

I'm not really sure. It looks like it would make a good control panel, but the roundels on the wall would need some editing to fit everything else.

Is there any chance that your planning on rendering your latest one in a proper renderer? I would be willing to render it for you if you want when your done, but I fully understand not wanting to share your model.

This is lovely work, but I have to agree on the new roundels - you have two different styles, one used as railing, door, and wall decoration, while you have a different pattern of different sized and sloped hexes on the wall competing.

Still, it doesn't have to satisfy us, only you.

I would think a few of these rendered to photo-realistic textures would be quite something. I think if you handed these to the BBC scenic department to build they'd have a heart-attack at the budget it would take, but I wish we saw more of the TARDIS interior like this.

I particularly like the entrance where their appears to be doors on either side that violate the outer dimensions of the exterior box, similar to the way the upper balcony has doors that violate the exterior dimensions, exploiting the 'dimensionally transcendental' nature of the TARDIS.

I have often dreamed of a situation where The Doctor and companion were being chased through the depths of the TARDIS, appear to be cornered with no escape and The Doctor points his sonic at a blank wall and an interior version of one of the outer panels appears, slides up in and they pop out one of the side walls of the TARDIS - then he sonics it again and we see the panel slide down impossibly from above and close. Then he runs around the side, back in the main doors, into the Console Room and does nasty things with the Architectural Program at the Console to the baddies where he outsmarted them.

I always thought this would be easy enough of an effect to do shooting the wall section separately and digitally compositing it into the outside of the box having a blue/green screen in place of the wall panel.

Maybe instead of the wall panel being called into existence somewhere in the TARDIS one of them in The Doctor's never seen bedroom and we could see him peek out the windows on one side panel of the TARDIS. I think Amy once asked where the other windows 'came out' at. The other three sets of windows could be looked out of from vastly far apart places in the TARDIS interior or reassigned places on The Doctor's whim.

Just ideas for other parts of the TARDIS we've never seen in case you or anyone wants to use or build on them...

A little update, just playing around with a colour scheme. I want it to be a dark, mysterious and sinister setting for the Doctor.

"Dark" and "mysterious" I can understand; it suits the Doctor well - sort of like how the 2005 console room first appeared to us, as well as the 2013 console room. Even if you reach back into the Classic Series, the Season 14 Wooden Console Room and the 1996 TVM Console Room also first appeared that way. But "sinister"? (That's more suited to the Master than the Doctor.)

However, I do like your color choices so far, even going as far as having a green lighted border around the "Starboard" lift, and a red border around the "Port" lift: very nautical, and coming from a nautical heritage I like it a lot! I'm sure that will also appeal to the air pilots as well since aircraft use the same navigation lighting convention as the nautical side.

Great choices, and I'm looking forward to more updates.

Small Update

I have been looking at the floor that the console is on and have played around with a little design to try an tie it in with the walls.

Ooooh! I kind of like that look! Are you planning to have those floor roundels lighted in some way? Or have some sort of Millennium Falcon-esque-type of "plumbing" inside them (referring to those circular recesses in the Falcon's hull)? Or a combination of the two?

You've got at least me very curious. I'd love to know what else you've got in store for this console room!

I have updated some walls, and added some seats around the sides of the console platform.

Small Update
I have updated the walls and removed the small hexagons from the walls and replaced them with larger ones.
