Hello all,

I've downloaded Dave's version of the plans but I'd like to get hold of the 3mb which was scanned in sections.

Can anyone help?

Just in case anyone is having problems with the links from Petes old page see here;
http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=tardis+blueprints

Copy and paste the whole link or you won't find what you're looking for...

EDIT: Fixed the link....

Hey, that's all the stuff I put up back in June 2009.
If I had known they were available here, it wouldn't have taken me forever and a day to find a downloadable copy. That's the trouble with file websites, they time out really quickly a few months at most. Which is why I used flickr to make the copies I did find available. At least this way people could find them if they wanted.

Its sad the reference material here has basically disappeared since 2005/06 when it was active. I spent nearly two days looking through the old threads, 90% of the photo links are dead links to photobucket.

That being said any chance the above mentioned Police Post files from Uk Archivist are available anywhere?
(His profile says he hasn't been active in almost a year.)

I must confess I'm planning my own build of a Police Post, I've spent years researching them. It literally made me sick to have realized I missed all that nifty reference material. "FileSend - File Removed Due to Inactivity" the fleeting nature of the digital age...

If anyone can help that would be awesome, Thanks.

I may have them somewhere on my hard drive - if I have them I'll post them.

*edit*

Excellent, these A3 plans are really nice. There are all sorts of information in these. These plans really confirm a lot of measurements, and give clues about the interior.

Thank you so much for finding them, and uploading.

Any chance you also saved the sign scans?

I must admit I could do quite a bit with those scans. It would be possible to accurately replace the missing signs from those Posts still standing in London. Many of them need new sign replacements, and it would easy for a sign maker to use those files to replicate them.
I wonder how much would that cost?
At least eight sets of signs are needed, I think. Four signs, two long & two short for four Posts?

Anyway Let me know.

Thanks again.

This is interesting stuff.  It shows how a typical interior of a Police Box is laid out and also some electrical layouts as well.

Fascinating, thanks theukarchivist!  Any more lurking in drawers?
Quote from: theukarchivist board=manual thread=1187231444 post=1187231444I think the last message crashed on me.  If it's there, then it's repeat info.  Quicker version :

Found I had A3 Plans in a drawer.  Thought I'd share them.  Hope they're of use.  Happy building to all.

Fantastic plans - many thanks for the link.

I'd love to see plans for the police posts if you have them :D

A similar link for a download of the police post plans would be brilliant yes.

Where are my manners? A big THANK YOU to theukarchivist for those Police Box plans of course!

Looking at those plans I see they specify a blue 40watt lamp in parallel with the main flashing lamp, located above head height inside the box on one of the corner posts. If the main lamp was flashed by the relay shown than this suggests that when the top lamp flashed then all the windows were lit up by the blue flashing bulb inside the box... must have been quite a sight.

Perhaps this is the true origin of the "blue flashing light" often associated with Police Boxes?
