I have been working on this console for a while now in Second Life and I wanted some feedback from everyone to see if it visually looks identical to the one used on set...

I still have a lot of work to do it, like adding the rest of the controls, changing textures, adding shadows, ect...

Malcolm, you're definitely on the right track. Have you drooled through this thread yet http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=2813.0 ? There are some amazing "under construction" photos in there, as well as Kingpin's usual excellent photos of the actual Junk Console prop from the Doctor Who Experience.

A few tweaks that would help you along before getting to the controls stage:

- the main surface of the panels is recessed, leaving a raised rim all around each panel;
- that "step" under the console's rim is just about as thick (tall) as the rim;
- the "step" and the plinth's "fins" make a recessed area under the console where those red "down lights" are;
- the red "down lights" are closer to the console's rim (about in the center of that recessed area);

Once you have a good look at the above linked section you'll see what I mean, and hopefully I've been a little helpful. But you are definitely off to a fantastic start! (I love that little console and would love to see someone have a go at building her. If she ever went up for auction - and I could afford it - I'd be bidding for her!)

Hmm. The console definitely has that old and rusty look to it, so I'd say the scrapwork vibe it's giving off is appealing, however I could have sworn I saw a Junk TARDIS in Second Life as well. I'll have a dig through Google to see if I can find it. In the meantime however, this console is off to a great start!

I'm back rather later than I meant to, but better late than never, I guess. I was correct in my saying of another of these in Second Life. This was built by Hands of Omega TTC's, you may be familiar with their work.

I hope these helps you to build this console.
