Hay, hay; don't push... He'll show... If he is like me and got a lot going on, it takes time:) heck, I don't post half my builds... Might be because of an addled brain, or close to regeneration like me; who knows.... Wearing a bit thin...

I seem to be terribly absent minded of late. Must be this head of mine getting filled with things. No matter. I've stopped by to show you fellows (and ladies) some of the things that have materialized in the little blue box we've settled in.
Sadly it's slightly smaller on the inside, really.

At any rate, after realizing that the spare room was nothing but a spot for collecting junk, I decided to reclaim it for the secondary console that was sadly acting as a dust collector in the attic.

I painted the walls silver and touched up the roundels, dusted off the mouthy robot, and even painted a floor cloth to cover that unfortunate camel carpet. To tie the ceiling in, I made a canopy with some tendril thingys.  Oh, and there is a scanner. Ships need scanners.  I got along splendidly with it for quite some time, but eventually needed to take it apart for maintenance...

Luckily there's always the tertiary console!

Wow! You did make some changes to that console! (And that house is the perfect color blue! It's just begging to have a front door that looks like a TARDIS.) I still say that console looks like it should be in a War TARDIS!

And I may have asked this before (and forgot), but what did you use for those roundels? They're very interesting.

They're just plastic plates glued together with hot glue, Dino. The plate on the back is silver, the one on the top is clear. It's brushed with black and dry brushed with silver. They pick up the light in the room and were pretty inexpensive. I used hot glue at the seam and it sort of looks like a weld once it's dry brushed with the silver top color.

We get a lot of compliments on the house. It was a refreshing addition to the neighborhood :)

Wow! It's amazing how something so simple can look so complex (and expensive). I really need to stop over-thinking things like this. (And maybe I should just stick to my flower pot roundels until I get them sorted. :P)

Thanks for the info, jarenelo! (And I may still price some large plastic serving plates/platters the next time we're visiting Party City... just for giggles. ;))

Thanks! This has been going on for some time. I think I'll post an update this week of new things that have grown in. I recently got a donation of a lot of smart screens from a friend on my b-day and I have upgraded the lights as well as added some plating here and there.

the mister

hey man, would love to see the update. Where are you going to post it? On this thread? I think I'm due for some updates to load up for mine too.

the_temporal_mechanic

I'll do some photos later today and get an update up here soon :) I still have some areas that I'm painting, but as always a work in progress post, is better than no post at all :)

Just a quick update here. I'll upload the pics to the forum after I get the rest of this weekend sorted. Sadly, I've found out that a close friend is in a state of rapid decline and she's not expected to survive very long. I have to attend an end of life celebration for her, but didn't want to neglect a quick update.

Hope you all enjoy :) Life is short, do the things you are passionate about.

Jarenelo, she's looking good, and the screens make it look a lot more realistic and something that functions, I think my only criticism would be the lack of controls. If it were me, id probably end up with toggle switches and buttons in the blank spaces on the panels around the controls, but that's probably because I like playing about with controls  ;D

I'm about speechless (I'm not at all good with this sort of a situation), other than to say what you're going through now comes in above all else, and any updates to your build should take a back seat. Be there for your friend, jarenelo. We can, and will, wait until you're feeling ready to update anything.

Very sorry to hear about your friend.
Hope the celebration goes well.

You are so right that life is too short & we all need to make the most of it.

Best wishes to you,

Russell

Awesome console, makes me wonder if I should have done something more ambitious/unique.
I speak to you from the final days of Gallifrey. I am the past you have forgotten. You are the future I will not live to see...
