I saw a pattern that inspired me to play in 3D again over the weekend. Here are 2 quick tests. I can't decide which one I like better?

Thoughts?

Looks pretty cool! One thing you should probably do, is decrease the lens dispersion. It should be there, but it should be much more subtle. It would also be nice to see a render with less noise.

Lovely Renders and a great design.
Have you thought of trying it with bigger roundels? I always associate the smaller size with the later control rooms. It still looks marvellous, though, like what the original could have looked like with a larger budget.

Very nice! I do love the round things :)
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

Love it - particularly the triple eagle stand, blackboard and skeleton clock. Your attention to detail is breath-taking!

Have you thought of giving this some 70's/80's style pillars? :)

I could probably throw something like that into the mix. Maybe some new style pillars?

Usually these types of things are just my 'inspired thought experiments'. I'll do a quick render and then never think about it again. I do this a lot actually. I'd say maybe 1 in 5 get posted.
