Hi all
I finally got around to making to start on this, which was meant to be a Christmas present.

a reasonably cruddy example:

Refurb Cat 1.JPG

The Nitromors paint stripper is applied and starts to do it's thing;

After a rub down and clean with white spirit;

Sprayed with a first coat of primer;

After another coat of primer, I will paint the windows and panels silver, as per the original livery. Then will come the blue, and lastly, the lamp, which in this case is red.
More to follow, as and when.

looks better already even though it's just primed.... smoother somehow

Yep, you're right Paul. This is in direct contradiction to a full size build, as you will find out. All the sanding, sanding and more sanding leaves a perfectly smooth finish, then, on goes the paint and every little nook and bump shows up.

Anyway, silvering in the windows and panels:

And then the BPM that's "Blue paint moment" A term I first coined 4 years ago, and has become a watchword:

Much touching up and cutting in on the silver to be done after the first coat dries, a second coat of blue, then the ol' lamp.

Being hollow is really useful for putting on a stick for working on!   ;D

Must be nice to have a nice, quick (comparitively) Police Box project..   ;)
My pilot's license? That's out back in the Cessna. Or perhaps you're referring to my license to kill. Revoked. Trouble at the Kazakhstan border.

I could give you the details but then I'd have to kill you, which I can't do because my license to kill has been revoked.

Right, here we go

A second coat of blue and the lamp is painted;

I will allow a few days for the enamel paint to harden and this little fellow will be off to the USA as belated Christmas present for Cathlyn
