Well, it may seem silly but this is my 1000th post on the forum! Been here for quite a while now, over 4 years joining, I believe, on a very significant date in Series 5. How time flies... In some ways, though, I find myself thinking "What?! Only 4 years?" - it feels much longer. I guess that's really because it's almost 6 years to the day when I started this TARDIS build; my first build of any significance, back when I was not aware of this forum and I was planning almost in the dark with some dodgy plans I'd found on the internet, Glenn's TARDIS Builders' Manual and some inspirational YouTube videos by "UncleLew"! This forum has been like a home to me, well, an internet home at least. There's always something interesting happening and there's always friendly people about to have a discussion with. Thank you!

Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

That weathering is magnificent! I can't even come up with an appropriate superlative to describe it! :o

That weathering looks very much as the TARDIS did in 'The Snowmen'. I quite like it too.

Thanks guys :D I think the extent of the weathering took many forum members by surprise but I'm extremely grateful you like it! I'm surprised how much it's grown on me to be honest and I think I'll have to at least do a bit after the repaint! It's also been incredibly useful, as al ailing areas of the box no longer look out of place with this! All the beat up areas add to the effect, so yeah, weathering I think is certainly the way I'll keep going with this build :)

Well the 4th major incarnation of my build had materialised, so here we are again! Still to be added is the McGann style door sign which I'll see to in a few weeks, but apart from that my McGann conversion is complete :)

Here's a repost how my build looked in its 3rd incarnation at the end of its run:

And a picture of how it looked more recently fresh from its regeneration:

And showing off the Capaldi interior:

And a shameless glam shot!

Thank you for all your support and participation during my conversion, I hope this build can stand strong for many years to come and see many more varying incarnations :)

There is nothing shameful about a TARDIS Glamor Shot, especially when she's so glamorous! (So I guess that one should have just been called "A glam shot". ;) ;D

She's coming along nicely. I quite like her with the white phone door, but I imagine she'll look majestic with the blue one--very 1996.  (Or is it December 31, 1999?)

I'm loving the repaint. The 2005 is my current favourite TARDIS. For some reason, I like most things that came out of RTDavies' era as the main writer better that Moffat's run. I haven't seen any classic stuff so I can't judge it.

Apologies if this is sideways, no access to a PC at the moment. Not been on the forum a lot recently, hoping to get back properly soon. Here's just a picture of how my build is doing!

The sign box facades warped and fell off (I don't trust No More Nails at all!) but although I may try and add some better ones in the summer, after I'd cleaned up the old sign fronts to match the new paint I think it's come into it's own a bit, so I'm happy to leave it like this for a while :)

Last year I posted a quick "Happy Christmas!" message, and much like Bilbo Baggins at his Eleventy-First Birthday I'm sure you were all glad I did not give an event speech so you could go back to stuffing your faces with mince pies. Well, actually, a lot has happened this past year so, my good friends Brandybucks, Hornfoots, Tooks, Bolgers and Gamgees, prepare for a verbal onslaught.

I love Christmas, I often get tunnel vision when it comes: "All that matters is Christmas, with its family, food, gifts and goodwill!" and though the oncoming year seems to stretch out an age it seems just yesterday I sat down last year with a baguette, posted a picture of my TARDIS in the sleep, and then went and got ready for Christmas. Here we are again, no sleet this year, but here's my TARDIS as of Christmas 2014!

So yes it's still holding in there ready for a Merry Christmas, and over the year has played host to several parties (and one merry but unexpected gathering of partygoers all in fancy dress who heard about it and turned up one night for a look).
I'd like to thank a few people for being particularly helpful and friendly this year, not that anyone cares what I waffle about but still! And obviously I can't mention everyone, if I could I would, and no doubt I'll forget a few, but I can't leave everyone un-thanked.
Darth Baldrick, you hit the ball rolling on my springtime K9 build and I'm still very chuffed with how it turned out! Love your builds and thank you! Volpone, you provided endless support, ideas and inspiration during my TARDIS rebuild and I like to think our TARDISes were linked by similar experiences this year, hopefully an alliance to continue! Russell, I'm damn in awe of your builds, 'nuff said! Rassilonsrod, always a pleasure and very insightful! And then of course there's MD who is a magician and who I can't thank enough for help on my new series console build in progress, likewise the legendary Kiwidoc has also been brilliant and friendly as ever, and like MD's his console is a heck of an inspiration!
And of course finally, to the ever present, ever funny, ever knowledgable Dino, the co-pilot of the new-series console, without whom I doubt any of my escapades this year would be possible, and without whom I reckon the forum would fall apart like snow impacting onto the back of some unlucky builder's head at whom I have just lobbed a snowball!
So, thank you all, and to all I haven't mentioned, there are several I can think of and more still I can't at the moment!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Bravo and a Mery Christmas to you Rich, and to all of our fellow TARDIS builders and fans - a happy holiday and TARDIS-y 2015 to us all...

Some thoughts in the order they occur to me:  I'm flattered by the kind words.  The police box was replaced by new technology (radios).  Wouldn't it be cool if we developed transporter technology but we needed booths at the distant end and they built new police boxes to transport cops instantly to a crime scene?  (I thought of this as I was thinking about how you'd said our TARDISes were linked or somesuch and thought it would be neat if all the TARDISes here were linked.  I could get into mine and come out in England.  Or Spain.  Or Ohio.)

Years behind schedule I finally got a promotion on my job.  So I got my old teammates together for a celebration.  At least one of them was a Dr. Who fan, who'd seen my box prior to the refit.  So I showed him the new pictures.  He was underimpressed.  So I showed him the old pictures.  Then the new.  Then the old.  Then the new.  He's a smart guy.  But he diplomatically pointed out that "maybe I'm not as into 'Dr. Who' as you are.  I thought the old one was fine."  Meanwhile I'm considering what I can do to make the signal lamp better and ways to make the windows more authentic.  We're a special bunch of nerds that get excited by the fiddling differences between TARDISes.  And I'm one of you, because I'm so much happier with my renovated box than the original.

Even if she still leaks.  :-\
