Hi guys, so while I was at college today making another two Seals of Rassilon on the laser cutter, I decided I would make a Plaque from the 11th Doctor's 1st TARDIS Console

I tried to get the image of a replica and greyscale it, but it was a pain in the backside. So I took the measurements and got the typeface, Courier, and made up the template and cut it out. It worked well in cutting, but when it came to painting, the words wouldn't show up  >:( So I tried it using acrylic, and....that didn't work either. Then I had a thought, we had some hardboard that was painted grey, so I painted over the top of it in a battleship grey colour and then dried it and then etched it. It worked! The laser cutter had taken the first layer off for the letters, revealing the light grey under the letters.

So here's what it looks like....

I think It looks rather good  ;D It's now ready to go either in my TARDIS when it's repaired or somewhere on my console when thats refurbed

Thoughts??

I hate to point this out but you have 2 D's in "Shadow Proclamation" otherwise it looks great!

Aside from those two Ds in "SHADDOW" (which should be an easy fix before turning out another one), that plaque looks fracking awesome! :o Outstanding job on that one, BioDoc!

Nonsense! In my opinion there's no such thing as a big Doctor Who collection! Brilliant work on the plaque by the way.

Kind regards, The14thDr :D

Hmm... BioDoc, if you think your collection is getting big, you might want to list each prop that you've made a replica of, and then we'll ask Oblivion to do the same, and see which list is longer! ;) ;D

I'd bet Oblivion has your list beat, which only re-inforces what The14thDr said:

And I would tend to agree. You can never have too many 'Doctor Who' prop replicas! ;D ;D ;D

Clearly, what's needed is a case to properly display such a collection! Say a half-police box that has slatwall or painted peg board and shelves inside to allow you to properly display your treasures?

Or a TARDIS toolkit, perhaps?

Great collection!
Spent a bit of time trying to work out what they all were, & what episodes they were from. Good fun!
Did you make all of them yourself?
Superb skills!!
I agree with the guys above, no collection can be too big, it's just the space you have to keep it all in becomes too small!

Cheers guys, I normally keep them in a plastic tiered set of drawers. I put the sonics and pocket watches in a tool box. The prop's I've made are as follows...

- Idiots Lantern TV
- TARDIS Plaque
- Key to Time Tracer
- River & Doctor's Diaries
- TARDIS Sign Fragment
- Sonic Lance
- 2Dis
- Dimension Jumper
- Ramshackle Device
- Siege Cube
- Vortex Manipulator
- Seal of Rassilon
- Dalek Eye Stalk
- TARDIS Key
- Shark Eaten Sonic
- 9th Doctor's Bomb
- Isolus Pod
- TARDIS Crystal
- Burnt Out Sonic
- 9th Doctor Ticket
- Zygon Tracker
& 6th Doctor Tracker

Bloody hell I've made a lot. I'm planning on getting a display cabinet when I move

Yup. It took me a while to work this one out as well. The Eleventh Doctor was reading a copy at the beginning of the Rings of Akhaten. I just spotted it in a Doctor Who tribute video on YouTube.

The Summer Special of 1981 I believe. I shall have to grab a copy for myself to stick in my TARDIS toolkit when I finally get round to finishing it.

Nice collection by the way BioDoc.

EDIT: It may be the Summer 1991 edition as opposed to 1981, but I can't tell with my eyes.
