Hi Guys, well this is a little thing I made at college. I had made one, which was a ring I'd bought, some metal and a glass bead, which I painted gold, but it looked crap to be honest.

So I got some brass from the metal scrap and then heated it up under the hearth and braised it together. I then filed the join down and then polished it on the polisher. I did this again for the second thicker ring. I then did the same for the smaller ring and put a piece of dowel inside it and made it slightly lower than the ring so that the gem would sit inside it. I then glue gunned this on, as welding it would have meant more polishing, and I'd had enough of it and it had made my face black, made me look like I'd been up a chimney. So here's what it looks like...

Is the ring 2 separate parts soo the thicker and thinner bands aren't joined together?

That Correct. The ring was designed specifically because Peter Capaldi never takes off his wedding ring, even for filming, thus instead of explaining the ring away they created a ring to fit over it.

The rings look great, BioDoc! And that stone is a brilliant color. They do look a little snug on your finger, though. Or were your fingers just a little swollen from all the work you were doing to finish the rings when you took the photo? (I know my wedding ring would get rather snug as my fingers swelled up after some heavy gardening, and it looked like it was squeezing my finger; but an hour or so later all was back to looking normal.)

Yes its in two parts and It does look a bit snug, I made It like that so that it would prevent it from coming off, especially with having my hands In pockets, ect.
