Hi guys, sooo I may or may not of blown up the TARDIS...  ;) :P

Nah, I'm only messing, but I have access to a Laser cutter at college, so I have made the TARDIS sign fragment from 'Hungry Earth/Cold Blood'. This time its made from Plywood and Acrylic. I used the PDF of the 2010 sign as reference to the size and then used that to draw out the shape of the fragment and the letters.

This is my Reference Image...

And this is how mine turned out....

Picture of it against my old cardboard version

It was burnt up on a braising hearth and it did bend the acrylic slightly, so I had to glue it back in place, and I had to paint on the burn marks on the acrylic as it bubbled up rather than burning

Thoughts??

Two thumbs up on this end, BioDoc! (And that's only because all I have are two thumbs!) When you say you used the laser cutter to draw out the shape and the letters, did you laser cut the lettering separately, or did you somehow manage to laser-etch the acrylic down around the lettering - eating away at the acrylic to leave raised letters?

Nice work!

Nope Dino, It's two different Layers, a layer of the shape of the fragment and then the lettering
