Firstly, great build.

One of your photos (console room) it shows the five doctors console inside your box. was this added by via paint shop or is it actually a decal inside?

If the later were did you find it? Really want one to finish off the interior of my Tom Yardley Jones build.

Might not the best idea to go hunting for high res pictures of the console room and use the "tile" method of A4 sheets to keep costs from sky rocketing? Not sure how high res pictures of that room are, but a viable alternative might be stitching together high res pictures from the set up at the Experience (or indeed worn during if a certain member here with that fantastic build might not be willing to take some of his) or finding someone with a high-quality virtual model and asking for a screen cap.

I saw one jsut like that at the Crich Tramway Museum in Yorkshire, only it didn't have the St. John's Ambulance logo.
Tell me, could you possibly tell us the measurements for your build?

The trouble with putting any kind of console room photographic insert into a box with actual windows is that you lose the wonderful interplay of light coming in through other windows and being visible on the side you're looking at.  It can be subtle and kind of hard to explain but once I'd seen it I was hooked on how it looks. 

A question to anyone else who has a TARDIS in their garden...

Do also find that the local wildlife like to use your TARDIS as a perch, and do you also seem to spend all your time cleaning bird poop off it???

I often wonder how some of the builds look after a few years in the elements.
Fantastic to see her looking so fresh and new again.   

Whoa! What a facelift! You've done some excellent work to bring the Old Girl back to her original glory. And that lighting... Wow! What sort of bulb to you have in there? It's so bright.

The light is helping, but I used a different make of paint, and I do think its come out a little darker.

I'm quite pleased with it; I have to say. The only problem with outdoor wooden builds is that they do need a certain amount of regular maintenance if you want to keep them looking their best. My box must be over four years old now (I actually started it in around January 2011, although i didn't start the build diary until around May of that year). In that time I must have given it three complete paint jobs!

Yeah. I've decided not to put too much TLC into "weathering" effects on an outdoor TARDIS.  Because you need at the least touch-up paint work and an annual complete paint would probably be a good idea.  You get a great weathering and you don't have the heart to paint over it. 

That's an advantage to going with a Met Box look--while weathered would be an authentic look (especially for a 1944 box) ideally they shouldn't look beat-up. 

Out of curiousity, who's your favorite Doctor?  Because I was thinking all you need is a ruffled shirt and an Inverness cloak (it looks like you've already got the velvet jacket, from your avatar).

Yeah, it's hard to top Tom Baker. 

I'm going to earn the ire of the mods (and derail your lovely thread).  I did my Young 1st Doctor photo because I've had clipper cut hair for going on a decade now and I tried growing it out but I'm about to cut it down.  Wanted to do the Doctor shot with long(ish) hair.  Right now I'm trying to will my razor stubble to grow so I can also get a decent Indiana Jones photo with longer hair. 

I only bring this up because I reblocked my brown fedora to be closer to the "Raiders" Indy hat and it saddens me a bit because the hat would work for a 4th Doctor hat, but the blocking is almost completely the opposite.  Indy has a kind of Abe Lincoln stovepipe effect going while the 4th Doctor's is much more sloping.  Doctor Jones has a tall front that slopes towards the back while Doctor Who has a low front and a tall back.  I could get a second hat and block it for Dr. Who or I could reblock the hat depending on which Doctor I'm being.  Of course it would be silly to just wear an Indiana Jones hat as the 4th Doctor.   

I kid.  I probably won't do a 4th Doctor costume because I can't pull off the hair and the google-eyed grin.
