Hi chaps and chapesses, only my second post, but I thought you might like this:



Made this model, ooh, twelve years ago? It's based on the descriptions of the tertiary console in the Virgin New Adventures, which was in a stone console room, slightly classical in flavour; it features several sundials, some corbels, and an opening central dome that allows the central sundial to rise and fall on a Roman column.

It's made entirely of styrene, with the odd EMA dome and pipe, and works out to be 1/8 scale.

If you're interested, I'll try and take some better pics.

By the way, you're all doing some fantastic stuff here! I really must get round to the full size TARDIS soon, maybe a winter project?

Secondly, that's STUNNING!  I love that!!  SO different anf so well done!  Now build it in 1:1 scale, and make it work... *grin*

What a brilliant console model!  - more pictures would be great

If you're going to build an outdoor TARDIS - in winter  - in sunny Woking... I'd definitely  buy a tarp

Do you have a mechanism for the central column that causes it to work or is it manually manipulated???   Still very impressive though!!!

That's really nice! I have to admit that it doesn't look anything like I pictured the tertiary console to look - I was picturing something more Western European gothic rather than ancient Greco-Roman - but that's a really nice design. I like the interesting way you have the central column opening up to move, and the attention to detail is truly remarkable, like the levers shaped like little ionic columns. Great work

Wow! Lovely! How did I miss this one? I must have been looking the wrong way for a few days. This just shows what wonders you can miss if you're not paying attention... Bravo!
