BioDoc, tell that sod... well, okay, I can't exactly say it here, but you've probably said those things to him already. If he ever asks you for the console display again, the words "Frack off!" come to mind and should go straight into his ears.

And if you've still got the wall backdrops, simply tell him either he pays you for all the hard work and time you devoted to HIS event, or you keep the walls as payment unless he wants to face "Theft of Services" charges brought against him for using your time and refusing to pay you. And if he really pushes the issue - not that I'm suggesting being spiteful or anything like that - but I would make sure that he got the walls returned to him in many broken pieces (as in 'damaged in shipment'). Wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say-no-more.

That guy is a right prat and deserves nothing less. (Jeez! This is making me just as angry as it's making you!)

Hey Biodoctor900 - you really did an excellent job. I hope you get the walls. But really doesn't matter as your console is AWESOME! I read your were stressed during the setups - I had the same type of stress at my setup and teardown at the Toronto Fan Expo...different being an exhibitor...anyways have to say you did an excellent job and your time rotor is very cool!

Regards, Thodin!

Hi Guys, thanks for all the comments. The issue of the walls has kind of been resolved. After a lot of shouting and swearing at him, he messaged my mates mum and finally gave in and told her that she could have them. But this means that I can only use them for events, not down in the summer house. Both of the banner walls are now hanging up on my mates wall. So with this in mind I decided that I needed to put some roundels on the wall. So I made a template and used cardboard to create them and then painted a yellow circle in the middle and added black lines with a sharpie to try and make them look a bit 3D and then glued them to the wall. Heres some pictures let me know what you think. This is only the back wall and I'm thinking of doing the two side walls....

I've also been offered a wider time rotor from Richard, (the one who broke my bench seat), when I asked him how much he said nothing. So I will hopefully soon have a bigger time rotor, so wont make the innards until then, although at least it gives me a bit more time to do some head scratching as to how to make the pully system work.....hmmmm

Anyway More soon....

Glad you (sort of) won the wall battle, BioDoc. And your homemade hexel-roundels look pretty cool. Have you thought about taking one of the photoshop-colored hexels from the Reference section (like this one http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=3948.msg40268#msgx40268) and printing ones out from that? You could vary the size of the printout to make them smaller as they go higher on the wall - sort of giving that illusion that they were tapering towards the top?

Hey Dino, yeah I was thinking about printing out the roundels, but I wouldn't even want to pay for the ink!  :o I picked up the boxes, although in the process lost my brand new £95 phone  >:( and then painted them with paint I had, so its cost me nothing

Well After the console being in bits in the Summer house, I finally nabbed some Mod Roc and glue sticks for the glue gun from college. I got to work on repairing parts of the buttresses that had the modroc ripped

HPIM0699.JPG

I also sorted out the rotor and the computer screen, I added the 'Weights' to the screen support using old computer chair wheels and I put some screws into the rotor to stop it pulling it to the side

HPIM0700.JPG

I've got to get some new lights and a friend of mine is giving me a new and bigger rotor in the new year, so that will be the next job, along with repair work to the TARDIS in the new year

Well Even with it being a new year, it doesn't mean that the prop making is finished.....

After doing repair work to the TARDIS, which will be in my build diary, I finally got to looking at the lighting in the console. After seeing that they ran from a filter with normal household bulbs. I was going to look down this route, but decided to keep with the LED lights as they're quite bright. So I found a spare set of White, 100 LED lights from the christmas box and coloured the bulbs, green and every other blue to give it the turquoise glow. I then did the same to a battery powered parasol LED light, it has about 40 LEDs on it, I coloured 10 Blue and the rest green and put this into the rotor

The lighting color looks pretty darned close, especially in that last photo! I'll definitely be checking your build diary to follow your repairs and lighting upgrade.

Hi Guys, Long Time since I've updated this or the TARDIS....(believe me the TARDIS needs it, she's slowly falling apart...but more of that on my other diary)

Well my friend Tom has moved, and unfortunately there's no shed in the back garden, however the TARDIS is out there. So it was in storage in his garage in bits. Now having assessed that I need to fix the TARDIS, I decided that it would take up less space having the console up, but the only downside is that there is no power.... :-[

But, I'm going to look into doing something about that :)

So anyway, I've put her back up and I have a new rotor....mmmm pretty rotor.....anyway

I've got access to a laser cutter at college, so I'm going to laser cut the rings and buy the tubes from ebay, or if I order them through the college, I may get them a tad cheaper ;)

Anyway, heres how she looks at the minute....

She's looking great, BioDoc! (As to the lack of power - are you sure you haven't slipped into an alternate universe? Remember what happened when the Doctor's TARDIS fell thought that hole in the Vortex and crashed on the Alternate Earth: incompatible power. You might have to give away ten years of your life, blowing it into the last glimmer of the Power Crystal to get your console's power back. ;))

Quick question, though: how did you mount your inverted tea light holder (the tall glass pyramid on that panel with the blue globe and the touch light Shield/Communicator button)?

Simple glue gunning Dino, which looking at the original, is what they did ;) I found a few reference images where you can see the remnants of the glue where the parts have come off the panel. To be honest, I thought she looked in a similar state to that and that of her sister and my 3rd Incarnation ;)

Glue gun? Now all I have to do is get our glue guns away from The Evil One when the time comes. (Yes; I said "glue guns" - plural.) She's "borrowed" three of them, and the reason we've got three is because she can't ever remember where she last set the previous one down. And with her taking them to university with her so she can work on her costuming stuff, heavens knows where they are. (Might just buy a fourth and hide it.)

As for those reference photos, BioDoc, can you link to the thread if they're posted here? Or if you've seen them outside the Forum, can you post the photos or link to them? I'd love to see that glue spot where the original bits came off.

Good to see more of this console! Every time I see a console build now I'm definitely feeling that envy again - it seems more and more so that my Police Box is lonely without! This is looking as good as ever though, so I'm just happy to see it ;)
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?
